Nice little DIY Project, I would reccomend using a HAF (High Air Friction) or HD (High Density) material for the nose cone since,

A: Most likely you'll land on it

B: You want to fly straight right?

(Air compressor is best) you fill up the thing with air (you need some addapter thing thats attached to the pipes so you can pump air and then you put 60-70 pounds of pressure and then pull the pin (with water in bottle) and it goes bye bye

The rocket launcher is supposed to be made like this..

A plastic tube that sticks up. Zip ties that hold the bottle down (trust me they are stronger than you think). Then you use duct tape and this one metal thing that I forgot the name of that tighten to keep the ties in place. Then a big pvc pip cupling goes over the ties and you slide the bottle on, then slide the pvc pip cupling over the ties and it holds them there with a pin under. Then you attach a string to the pin.

These people did not build the fins correctly. The best way to build the fins is to use that plastic material that is used sometimes to make those long blinds that hang down. Also the cone is made of another plastic bottle that is twisted to a cone shape. Also you need something that is called a skirt which is a round piece that goes at the bottom where the hole is for pumping the air. That is where you put the fins. The fins are supposed to be near the bottom of the rocket.

Me and my brother made a rocket launcher that is built perfectly. It has nothing to do with a cork, the cork is unpredictable and does not build enough pressure. With the cork it builds up less than 10 pounds of pressure per square inch inside the bottle but with ours, we can get it as high as we want but we keep it at 70 to be safe. The rockets launch 200-300 feet in the air. The fins are probably the most important part of the rocket. Without fins it only goes about 50 feet.

you fill a 2 liter soda bottle with about half a liter. then you stick a cork in the top where the water bottle where the top wud normaly go. then take a pump or like a basketball, stick it through the cork, and start pumping
