I've been playing this song for YEARS but never got the clean parts in the verses totally figured out (how did you figure that out by ear?!!)... also thanks for showing me where the harmonics are! I think the one at :24 is a pinch harmonic as opposed to a (what do you call them?) natural harmonic.

@TheNicoli12345 called harmonics. two types of harmonics, pinch harmonics and natural harmonics. natural harmonics are the ones you are referring to. at every interval of the string, you can find a harmonic area where you can rest your finger on the string (over the bar), but not fret down, pluck and let go at the same time, and you will get a nice chime called a harmonic.

100% possible to learn songs like these by ear. Play long enough and you know what's going on in most songs just by hearing them. there are tons of commonly used solo fingering patterns and you know them just by hearing them..
