I think online schools get bad reputations because they are for profit, not funded by the gov, and need to run like a business to survive,so that is why they will enroll anyone. That is the problem. They enroll degenerates who end up flunking out, bc they thought it was going to be easy, then dissing the school on the internet bc their dumb asses failed and they still owe money to the school.

Not everyone is 18 and single and able to go to a traditional college. That is what PF is for. I am 31, married with two kids. Going to a traditional college isn't an option. Is University of Phoenix a scam too because they are online? No, it is for people in my position.

This is a valid institution. Go to the Department of Education site and search for it. Is is listed and has a recognized accredited institution. Do a little research.

BECOUSE 1, you dont have the hands on you need in collage, 2: PF Collage may not be accredited ENOUGH. BUT, yes they are accredited.

The only lies i see here are lies saying it's a fake school. If you want to go to a collage i would recommend a collage you physically attend but as far as the school goes....uh, do your research before you say it's fake. Did you also know they are listed by the united states department of education as ligit and accredited. I take you didnt know that. Yes most big state collages accept them but some collages are simply not fimiliar. That doest exclude them as fake.

why would you say that it is accepted by most colleges at least the ones i want 2 go to. but it is a little pricey $1200 compared to $110 for a state g.e.d. test.

Please note i do not direct these comments to anyone in particular. All of these comments i would have rather not made but i wouldnt have come into defence of PennFoster if i didnt have solid facts. I am a 2 time career diploma graduate from PF and am working on my HS diploma. The career diploma's are just for getting you Firmiliar in a field. It doesnt mean you become an overnight professional. THAT takes time. & thats were rumors start about PF. Misinterputation.

It's working out great so far ohnestly. Im just now getting into the fitness and nutritian which is the 6th unit in the HS diploma program. PF also does transfer credits if you have anything left over from your past HS. I did and i got transfered out of general math part 1, Reading and 4 electives. I assure you your not waisting your time. a PF HS diploma IS widely recognised also accepted by many big state wide collages but if you feel more comfertable with a GED then i would do that then.

As for the school having bad ratings? Look a little closer. They are all reports from students that have had a past misunderstanding. All was tryed to be resolved but refused by the consumer. I could set here and debunk intrenet junk you see about PF all day but i havnt got the time. NO i am not a paid responder. Noone is.

I would say that if your not satisfied with PennFoster go to another school and dont try to put down a good name becouse of misunderstandings. I have my facts here and they ARE a legit school. Rainbow, that would be considered bribery and is against the law. Rest assured BBB does not operate by bribary. They too would be in jail. Get your facts before you say something negative. I HAVE my facts.

I have 4 points of proof, ONE of them being by the goverment runned site called the department of education, TWO of them being by the BBB. THREE of them, P.F. was not listed as a fake institution and four, P.F. is known by a number of big state collages. OTC, Wyotech, UTI and Ivy tech just to name a few. I would LOVE to see YOUR points of proof disproving my facts. And i DO expect something other than internet trash talk and here-say.

I saved ALL "pennfoster's material" sent to me, for "evidence": THEY'LL talk more than I could: As I tried to learn PC Repair, paid 850 + an 70 fee to extend my 'lessons', 90% of their stuff is either JUNK, either VERY OUTDATED or you could easily find ONLINE for FREE, in better ways!

I felt scammed by them and NEVER could recommend them to any. it is a frustrating Joke this course I took. And their Customer Service is way down!

not to mention that there is no guarantee that the answers published on the Internet are actually correct.

We cannot control the release of answers, however, we are taking steps to make sure this does not happen in the future. We are randomizing our exams so that no two are alike so sharing answers will become extremely difficult. Questions will be different on each exam as well as the order. Hopefully this will solve this issue.

It's more designed for Military, Single parents, people with physical disabilities and prisoners. They are accredited, they just don't hand out diplomas.

However, you're better off taking classes from your local community college, which also offer online degrees to accommodate the non-traditional student.

Now, the reason I said that Penn Foster is a diploma mill is due to the fact that answers to nearly every exam can be found online. In fact, there are several websites expressly for that purpose.

That being said, I put no credence in a diploma from Penn Foster.
