@micsir888 Yeah I know what you mean. Though I do not make teachings or instructions, but when I practice with friends I always try to maintain the distance that i can touch their chest or head while still having my elbow bent. It can get a bit hairy, but you get more of a feel for encounters that are not.. playing with your kugn fu brothers :) If you get bored I upload vids of our practices all the time. I'd love your comments and suggestions! have a good one brother
@yieldingbamboo I dont know much ab out bagua but for my own kung fu I try to use both hands together as well. Like a "bock" with one and "strike" with other, but in my mind the block and strike are both jamming forward.. so in a sense the block is an attack on their attack .. this disrupts their balance from both angles.. so when I share with friends I just discuss jamming forward with both arms at all times.. there is no "block" I am no expert though what do you think?
Wow, I have been searching for a fighting style that is similar to the Hyuuga style on the anime Naruto and I finally found it!!! So Excietd. TY for loading!!!
Nomad looks like a wrap around the head, focusing on pulling power...undeniably bagua training is the best for footwork and stretching the limbs, particularly the hips, groin and gludiusmaximus..check the spelling on that..lol..BlackTaoist do live sparing with bagua techniques, any doubters of bagua application should check them out..
Traditional is hard to define, because all schools of kung fu use and adapt moves from other schools, but also create their own. All moves are rooted in Chinese culture and cannot be take away from it. If you do, the meaning will be lost. Then again, some schools are older than others and kung fu changes with the times, hence nobody now practices the same Tai Chi as Yang LuChan, when he first came to Beijing. The same can be said of many schools of kung fu.
With regard to martial arts, I don't think the term "too traditional" exists. Traditional movements contain the essence of the art. The slowness is, of course, to show the movements best.
I can understand partially what you might be indicating. As you may be studying "speedier" versions of martial arts, to name a few such as Leapord Style Kung Fu or Tendo. But you must understand that, like mentioned before, there is no "too traditional" to Martial Arts. With traditionalism comes a deeper meaning of the essence, the core, of self defense. And there true effectiveness of said art can be birthed from that essence.
No comparison. The person in this video clip is a reasonably good intermediate-level student. Luo De Xiu (many spellings are in use) is among the highest-level masters of any kung-fu form, wordlwide.
i hate what the attackers punches and kicks wouldn't of even made it on target. some off the moves are nice, but the display sucks.

this guy is much better at applications/fighting than forms. Bagua and tai chi are in the same martial art family

Wow.. Bagua is the best martial art, no doubt about it. Although I prefer the Lo Te Hsiu better.
