  • does anybody know which are the pickups of joe perry's gold sparkle strat?

  • Can someone tell me where I can buy his pickups? I'm looking for a nice classic heavy metal tone.

  • Bill Lawerence web site.

  • Make sure it's actually Bill Lawrence, not Bill Lawrence USA. He just signed something with Lace so I don't know how ordering is going to work in the future.

  • Basically Bill's work is purely direct over the internet. I would check the Lace site or Bill's site (NOT BillLawrenceUSA.)

  • @HoSucWang so billlawrenceusa pickups are fake

  • @bbgambino99 In the sense that they're not actually made by BILL LAWRENCE then yes, and if in the sense that they're mostly ripped off designs by bill lawrence without the capacity to do them properly, then also yes, and also if in the sense that they needlessly cost more, copyrighted a man's name after he left the company, and made the life of one of the pioneers of proper guitar pickups needless more painful then also yes. If you need more proof, check USA's disclaimer on their site.

  • @HoSucWang You got it all wrong by perspective lol. First of all, the designs were licensed to the company, which was a partnership, giving tied ownership to everything to both men. Willi Stitch (Bill Lawrence) outsourced supplies in Germany, which bankrupted the company, and being a crook, he didn't want to be liable so he split from the company, and therefor forfeit any legal ownerships. Thats how it happened and how the rights ended up in the hands of the guy behind BLUSA.

  • @wslx0195 I don't know about any of that, and I'll look into it, but it certainly seems unlikely from what I know of Bill. Regardless of any of that, those are Bill and Becky pickups, not BLUSA, and likewise, there's nothing sold on Bill Lawrence USA that could possibly sound as nice as anything that Bill puts outs. Also further with that point, actual pickups from Bill, custom wound to your needed impedances, cost around 50 dollars. If he is a crook, I don't understand his pricing.

  • @HoSucWang well I don't mean it literally. Bill's products are amazing and I won't deny it. He may not be a crook but I just don't like how Becky went out and mislead many people, and he just let it happen.

  • @wslx0195 Who and how did she mislead?? Bill and Becky??They are two of the most honest people around.I've known Bill for over 30 yrs.A straight shooter as is Becky.

  • @bubbarcj Straight shooters? They mislead people into thinking that BLUSA is a 'fake' when in reality, he shorted his own business when he went overseas and sold his OBL brand. He split from the company, and broke all ties including patents and licenses held by the company. His, and Becky's, marketing technique is to spread rumours about his past company to bring in loyal customers. Of course, there's nothing wrong with him bringing in customers, but he and becky lie about the history.

  • @bubbarcj Then again, I don't actually know the folks so my words are worth a grain of salt. However, there's plenty of evidence circulating the net to show how Willie (or Becky) has been manipulating the public image of BLUSA, his former business, business partner whom he legally agreed to split ends with, and to give up the trade name and current product design.

  • @HoSucWang The disclaimer only says that he is not affiliated with Willie Stitch "Bill Lawrence" for legal purposes.

  • @wslx0195 Yes, and? That doesn't change the fact that again, in that disclaimer, it states that he has not worked with the actual Bill Lawrence designer since 1984. If the point is that you are using someone's name as a trademark to sell that person's designs, how at all does a disclaimer for legal purposes change the fact that he hasn't had a new quality pickup while the PERSON Bill Lawrence is making groundbreaking high quality pickups. Disclaimer or otherwise, please just buy from Bill.

  • @HoSucWang Incredible pickups at any price bar none. And equally incredibly nice and honest people. In either catagory they just don't come any nicer.PERIOD!!

  • Those sound fantastic! Although methinks a player like that could make an out of tune Squier sound great! Nice playing, and great tone.

  • i need micros NOW.

Shame the video cuts out at the end, the sound of the bridge position is absolutely unbelievable. If only the video started there instead of ending there....

  • That's actually a G&L S-500 with the MFDs replaced.

  • "The sweetest sound I ever heard......" are the 280's in my Strat. Bill and Becky ROCK!!

  • what bill lawrence PUPS are these, is it stewie mac jwackman

    answer pls

  • Thanks for your interest.these are the prototypes for Bills new Micro Coil series pickups that only could have been designed by the real Bill Lawrence the same one who invented the L280 and L200 series as well as many many others for most of the major guitar companies world over. And yes he is of German descent.I've known Bill for 30 yrs and used his pickups that long as well. The comlpeted final pickup is even BETTER than these and will be available soon.Check them out you'll be amazed. Thanks Ron

  • CBS can't even get their own Fender Strats to sound that good! That guitar with the Bill Lawerence pups are just gooing with tone & more tone!
