When I first saw that scene, when he lunges forward, it really shocked me.
The audience was just like the kid at first, always looking at his face with attentiveness. Then, when he lunges forward and says what he says, it's like he's not only talking to the kid, but the audience too. That's such good film making.

@Manheart125 I don't think Mel Gibson, has ever given better performance than this one. And that includes Braveheart.
