Gosh, I used "search" to see if Forbidden Planet had already been mentioned, but I missed the relevant post because it was spelled "forbbiden." Oh, well. It's still a cool movie, even if this scene isn't from it!

Wow, this movie is Forbidden Planet. I saw it years ago, but I immediately recognized the absurd space suit!

It's a decent film--not a B-movie--and is considered historically significant for its special effects and electronic score. It also introduced Robbie the Robot, an iconic character who's cropped up in a lot of other stories since then (including I, Robot). The plot is actually based on Shakespeare's The Tempest.

It's not one of my favorite films, but I think it's worth watching.

I love Joi Lansing. She had a very interesting career. Read the book, "Comfort and Joi", and you will see how remarkable Joi was. I love those red gloves!!

Joi Lansing basks in that rocket exhaust as though she were some glamorous blue movie starlet taking a facial - what a trouper!!! We even get to cut back to her for a final kiss-off! A small moment for a terrific performer in a hysterically bad movie, and a memorable one. Don't look too close, the sequins on those gloves are mesmerizing!

One never knows what their end is. I read elsewhere that Joi Lansing died of breast cancer and Eric Fleming who plays the captain in this movie, drowns while filming a movie in South America I think.
