@runnerbean1961 Thanks for the info, I'm not doing exams but, as a way of measuring my development, like to have some base idea on grading/difficulty. From what I've been able to deduce so far, there does'nt seem to be any cast iron way to tell what level a piece actually is, unless it's actually been included in an examaning board syallabus before!
@DavetheIV hi dave i have just completed grade 3 and am studying grade 4 i did pretty well so that may act as a bit of a bench mark for you.
If you go on the a b r s m web site there is a lot of info on what to expect and paramiters of the exam, i am re doing exams after a 25 year gap i have also another piece on here from my exam aeolian harp, but if you play fluently as possible observe repeats and play soft and loud as indicated in the music rather than trying to play fast you be ok.
@jnclassicalguitarist I'd love to send you one of those arm thingies J, trouble is it's a cut down knee thingie that I'm using, I bet you have access to tons of discount stores that carry similar lines! Mine cost a whole English £1, now I have 2 halves & that's a bargain for ya! I'd reckon on you having to find a couple of dollars for something similar. XX thanks for looking in.
