I still have a picture I drew when I was 13 of me as a HPU cheerleader. Then in 7th grade I tore the ligment in my left leg during cheerleading practice.....well that dream went out the window. Wish things were different (still thinking about applying tho)

Sounds like UH. Easier if you transfer from HPU or community college (no SAT/ACT required).

which is best for someone who wants to study media- film production and journalism? UH or HPU? I am a transfer student from a NY community college with a 3.4 GPA. UCLA and arizona are among my top choices but the atmosphere of hawaii would be nice.

HPU has BA in Multimedia & UH Academy of Creative Media both with DIFFERENT major concentrations and fairly young programs. You need to focus on your profession and S.CAL has plenty of interns and networking opportunities. It takes about 4yrs to complete a degree at HPU and 6yrs at UH, why not do your MA with the extra 2 years? Improve your grades at HPU and the profs are very personable, they could help you prepare an application to Tisch( NYU) or UCLA. Best be where the "action" is...

HPU has the second largest enrollment next to UH-manoa in Honolulu. It has the Downtown, Windward, Oceanic Institute and military campuses but feels like a small urban college. Check out their main website.

Many state colleges tend to be-look at CUNY and Cal State systems. When was size indicative of quality and care?

what? Ok first of all i just commented that University is a larger school. They have more students and a larger campus.. you have to be quite thick to not notice that or even read about that. I love HPU and have nothing against it. HPU is a smaller school and allows teachers to connect with the students more so then at a larger university.

HPU is a great place to study. Disregard the rankings and go there with an open mind. You will be in a v. supportive and nurturing environment. Come out with a job and the rest of the success is up to you!
