For example, the last major event of this happening, may have caused a pull on the earth concentrating at a specific area. That could cause pre-stresses in the earth's plates. If the alignment happens in the same orientation as the last major catastrophic event, then maybe nothing will happen? If it happens 180 degrees from the previous event, then maybe the compressed plates will be pulled apart?

This alignment didn't cause anything on 27th of Sept because if you notice the earth wasn't in the centre of Sun and Brown Dwarf comparing it with earthquake in Japan, chilli and Newzeland. On 23rd of November the earth will be in same position being in the middle of SUn and Brown Dwarf with distance of just 0.596AU thats where we're gonna have some serious problem.
