  • Was 4:45 an overtone??

  • i can't play like youOMG..

  • Wouldn't it be possible to find the piano part only? Or to put it online for us hornplayers? Would be great to practice along with the pianopart :-)

  • i liked the holtons sound better than that ricc. bring back the 8D.

  • ohsteacher, why did you get rid of the Ricco, where is that 8D of yours?

  • You are romantic player and I hope in next year you get one "Alex 103" and give this heavy artilliery to the charity! Happy New Year!!!!!

  • Yet another great solo/recital work for horn. I've always enjoyed this work and Frackenpohl's music in general. Steve, lovely playing as always. I was curious, can you change the tempo of the piano part at all? I wondered what kind of freedom you had to affect that.

Finally, I'll make a request. When you get a chance, I'd love to hear your version of the Sonata for Horn by Franz Danzi. It always seems to be overlooked to me. Maybe it's just me but I love the work.

  • You are very talented! A great inspiration! Keep doing what you do! =D

  • Ahhh. Listening to you play is so refeshing! It always makes me want to break out my horn and try whatever you've played recently. I do have a question though, I seem to be having trouble with how long I can play and and how well. I can't play for more then maybe an hour sitting depending on how high the notes are. I play 5-7 minutes of long tones in a regular warm up and 2-4 minutes of lip slurs. I just don't know if I'm where I should be as a horn player as a high school sophmore.

  • Hi, i have a problem with my embrichoure, i seem to blow kinda down instead of straight. How can i fix that. I mean, i have played that way for 2 and a half years, and its difficult to fix it. Any tips?

  • @fanmj23 As I understand, valve (modern orchestral) horn is combination of dozen of horns with their different lenghts of tubbing. So, master Schantal on F and try to apply the same on all other valve combination. To play high, find steady c' and than buzz it with or w/out mouthpiece than build the d', e', g'. Remember all open!!!

  • @stickom Thanks so much! Appreciate it. :-)

  • as soon as i get my job the first thing im saving up to buy is a new H179 :D professional farkas double horn :DDD i cant waittt. i dont have a horn now. and its killing me. i gave up with my saxophones...so i feel so lose and lonely without music :'( </3 but soon enough ill be playing and looking for orchestras to play with :D maybe ill upload some videos when i eventually get it

    <33333 french hornnnn

  • what mouthpiece do you play on... i just got a new bach 11

  • Nicely done! Why did you go with the Holton?

  • @mdlee52 I sold the Ricco Kuhn so I am between horns right now. The Holton is from my school. The valves are a little worn, but it plays great!!! I have used it on several performances during the last two weeks.

  • @ohsteacher i am sorry but its slightly out of pitch , its not your playing but its the holton !!!!

nice peace you did there , well done.

  • @ohsteacher What made you decide to sell the Ricco Kuhn? Lack of funds? You seemed quite happy with it, and it certainly sounded great from my limited listening.
