  • Android OS is much better than the iPhone. Thats why apple is going to change there OS. They know they have been out done big time.

  • @halo27legend Why is the android OS better than iphone's? , i find it a little annoying having to set up my home screen all the time with widgets and apps. Also i find iphone a bit easier to use and navigate around. What do you think?

  • @DublaKwizzle Personally, I enjoy customizing and organizing my widgets and apps across 5 to 7 home screens to my own liking. You can't do that with the iPhone. I find the iPhone OS boring. Its like sitting at someone else's desk and you can't move any of their stuff where you want it to be. I enjoy androids freedom experience. As far as the ease of navigating around, I think both are relatively easy, but there are more options as to how you navigate around with android. More one step process.

  • That is ugly!!!

  • dear ShadowEater120880, it's just a way to say that open source won over every other technologie since upgrade are usually free (if compared to mac/iphone, i.e.)

  • Why is their always this "better than iphone" or "iphone is better than" culture now. Who gives a shit. Just use what you want to use and let others use their devices. Neither is better or nobody would use the inferior product. Can we all please grow up and lose this pathetic mentality, its really getting boring now

  • I agree with you, but for argument's sake, i think it's because iPhone set such a high standard, that "beating" it is a great accomplishment.

  • Thats entirely my point. There is no real way to test apart from on an individual basis. For me the iphone is worthless as all i do is talk and text from my phone so technically my nokia 6350i "beats" the iphone. Its a nonsensical debate as many would disagree but many may agree. Its completely moot.

  • But it is better correct?

  • It maybe, You'll have to try it to evaluate for yourself. If you prefer it then it is better, if you dislike it then it is not better. There is no clear cut as I keep saying. To me it provides nothing more than my Nokia provides as I need very little from a phone, so I'd say my phone is better. Millions would disagree, millions would agree

  • What he is saying is Better and Best are completely subjective. Use the device that works "best" for you. I agree. It is boring now and has been for sometime.

  • @ShadowEater120880 Human nature. We like to defend our perimeters. And really, Apple asked for this one by thinking they could dominate with overpriced, less functionally handsets.

  • this is not android. why is android in the title of all these TAT videos?

  • yay. a photo viewer on a phone. *snore*

  • This UI doesn't look better than the iPhone OS. It has some cool features, but so do all.

That said this isn't even Android, looks nothing like it.

  • what DOES it look like? spread the love

  • Looks sort of sluggish to me. That's not to say that the iPod Touch isn't without lag, but it's all show and no use.

  • Use your brain, there is almost a 100% chance that this is just an SDK release meaning that it has a large chance of not even being on a phone lol... Why wouldn't it be sluggish. Look at a real demo, it's flawless.

  • If it's just the GUI we're talking about, it should be incredibly quick and responsive from a usability standpoint. Even if it were concept video (and I don't really care if it is), it should especially reflect that criteria while it's relatively idle.

  • Still you don't understand that it's not so quick because it's most likely NOT ON A PHONE. Or if it is, it's probably not even on a special phone configured FOR the OS. And it's most likely a setting in the options menu where you can change how fast it moves, etc. This is probably just a random slideshow. The UI looks FANTASTIC. I don't understand what you're blabbering about.

  • well done! Google is the future my friends

  • ANYTHING that has to do with viewing, sorting or manipulating photos is waaaay played out. Whether it's phone UI, multi-touch tablets or something else, I've seen enough to make me sick. Show me something INNOVATIVE that I haven't seen a thousand times!

  • So says the dork who only uses his camera phone to snipe pictures of the girl dressed up as Leia in the line ahead of him at Star Wars...

Shut up dork. Demanding innovation by attacking someone else's work while offering no real suggestion is truly nerdy internet criticism.

  • lin2log - You're a retard.

  • The typeface is not Helvetica, therefore it is not a superior UI.

  • this is not android

  • The Sfinx lol

  • remind me why I want to do all this mundane, tedious tagging and photo management on a screen the size of a phone?

    show me something useful please.

  • Give whoever made that an education in graphic design please.

  • Looks solid. I think when it is released the hardware side will be the most important bit.

And since the app store is open prepare for identical apps to cover any iPhone openings!

  • This is a nice interface for sorting photos, I guess. Deosn't really give me any idea what the PHONE interface is like.

  • It LOOKS pretty, but it doesn't look intuitive or easy to use at all.

  • I don't like the flashy animations, but this is certainly moving in the right direction. I don't think it comes quite close to the iPhone's interface, but I can only hope other phone manufacturers imitate this UI.

  • First off, all android phones will look different. Second, this one looks like SHIT!

  • Honestly who can't spell sphinx?

  • HAhahahahaha, agreeed.

  • Actually Sfinx is correct in Swedish. TAT is a Swedish company. Makes sense, no?

  • This isn't even a phone UI, it's just "hey, here's some pictures, look at how we're sorting them. :\

  • Moving targets? Ugh.

  • This looks very nice - very similar to Apple Front Row (although the animation/motion is pretty crude). Still, iphone has a big advantage in that it doesn't require users to visit youtube in order to see it's features.

  • Yeah I don't think they can really say that it loses connection to edge/3g every now and then, that might be very negative to Lord Apple's sales :D

  • While this looks pretty sweet,

Remember having lots of flashy animations get boring after awhile, and it slows you down

  • why is there no sound?

  • Nice and streamlined. Smooth, intuitive functionality. And this is just the photo viewer. Hopefully it runs as nicely irl

  • hi digg!

  • Highlt multithreaded cool app!

  • You people are a bunch of babbling idiots.

  • This has nothing to do with Android. I don't know who keeps uploading these "Android UI looks far better than iPhone"-videos, but this person clearly has no clue.

  • i love this, it would be great if all phones had an APPLICATION like this. once again, though, this application will probably be recreated to be made on the App Store. there is already a very similar app for jailbroken iphones called photo scroll.

  • Actually most of the Mac Concepts and ideas were from Linux and Unix systems.

  • lol, you burned him bad!

  • Linux was derived from Unix. Most of the design principles were shared between projects from Linux and Unix. Which is why I included Linux.

  • Linux showed up in *1991* and NeXT (from Steve Job's company!) was born in *1987* premiered in *1989*, so gee, WHO just might have "derived" WHOS work then??! ... bathering idiot.

You holier than thou freetard fanboy's with your blind, basement driven, clueless "political agenda", trying to "save the world from commercial software suppression!" , screaming "CHOICE!" by peddling your bullshit, only cause you need the self-righteous ego boost for your otherwise sad, lonely existence.

    I pity you.

  • Unix was developed in 1969! Guess what OS is running core borrows heavily from Unix FreeBSD, with its own highly custom UI? It's Mcintosh!

Also, when I was talking about Linux. It was only because they shared code back and forth between development branches with Unix.

  • Mac fanboys think Apple invented it all. If it wasn't for *nix systems, Apple would be dead. End of story. Give credit where its due.

  • Apple has Unix in it's core code. Apples OS, uses code derived from NextStep, FreeBSD, and some other free software projects.

Also, NextStep derived a lot of its code from the Unix Mach kernel and other Unix kernels.

  • But, but, but... come back little b1tch. Dont run away! Someone needs to defend your precious ripoff of an OS and Stevie BJ. LOL. Please.. No wonder Apples been around for longer than all the other PC OS companies and has d1ck of a market share to show for it. Go suck on you m0mmy's tit, little girl.

  • I never said anything about OpenStep at all. Also, there are different versions of OpenStep.

Again, never even brought up this topic on the iphone at all. You are arguing with yourself here. Next, I have actually programed for the iPhone. It's more of a striped down mini version of OS X. Both are based on the Darwin OS, which was based on NextStep.

  • Since, you don't want to take my word for it and you still think the opposite way for some odd reason. Why not take a look at Apple's developer section:

"If you like open source development, you'll love Mac OS X. This fully-conformant UNIX operating system—built on Mach 3.0 and FreeBSD..." - Apple Inc.

Now, what? Is Apple a liar or are you going to admit that you were simply mistaken in your past way of thinking?

  • haha good call!

  • you sound geekier than anyone on the page.

also very ironic to say THEY are EGOmaniacs who "aren't worth YOUR time."

  • haha, you, what an idiot

  • haha, you, learn some fukkin' ENGLISH before you go off on the grown-ups.

    lol, moron.

  • lol you camp here all day or what? didn't have to email me you fucking maniac.

  • lol, look, trying doing something real like grow a penis or something, sending ppl insult emails ain't gonna help you grow up..

Ye like some1 said, stfu and go stick your phone somewhere it belongs

  • STFU you iDiot, go stick your phone somewhere it belongs

  • Seriously...how old are you? You have the tact of a drunken geriatric patient off his meds.

  • @inphi I don't know one Mac Fanboy who thinks Apple created it all. You are just using false accusations to make a point. However, Apple's original Mac OS was based on Apple's own code and was not *nix. The Mac OS was the first successful OS to bring the graphical UI to consumers. Apple should be given credit for this. Mac OS X is *nix, and I do admit that making Mac OS X Unix Like was a smart choice for Apple and if they had gone the other way, they would not have been half as successful.

  • Nice concept. continue like this

  • nice work, put them on a actual Phone and you will get rich :P

  • Damn! This is one smooth and absolutely hot looking UI. Nicest looking UI on any platform. This STOMPS all over the iPhone's UI.

  • Amazing. I love it is every sense. Was this UI already chosen for the Android phones/ HTC DREAM?

I'm getting whatever phone runs this interface. I hope it could be "stuck" onto any Android phone. Love it. WELL DONE.
