@osodelicious The name Satanism is reference to the fact that Satan is representative of a hedonistic, selfish nature as opposed to Christians who strive to be selfless and free from what the Bible tells them is sin. Now, I don't claim to be a Satanist, (yet) but in my eyes, a very big portion of what LaVey says in his book makes a lot of sense.
@osodelicious25 I don't know what I'm talking about? Dude, I'm in the middle of the reading the Satanic Bible, which was written by LaVey. It clearly states many times that the only god the Satanist believes in is himself.
Theist often come to Satanic vids in hopes of somehow discrediting them in their own mind. Mad theist know all too much about a state of non-belief. When fanatics push their beliefs on others, often, they get a returned look like your fucked lady for pushing this shit on me.
I have researched what satanism was and is about, and as i was reading i was agreeing with it all Until I got to the part about using children as sexual objects or exploiting them sacraficing them etc...was okay...wtf that stayement alone discredited the whole religion. Man made religions are fucked up.
@osodelicious25 that's a different kind of Satanism, and 99% of that stuff you hear about sacrifice and murder and magic is bullshit made to scare people.
LaVeyan Satanism is an atheistic religion, and is against the idea of supernatural magic and ceremony. I can assure you there's no killing involved.
@aphat The fact that you say it's an atheistic religion is a contadiction in itself, you obviously don't know what your talking about. Lavey was a SATAnist..hence SATAN being a diety of some sort that he BELEIVED(not atheist becasue they believe in nothing) was a thing to worship and do deeds in the name of. Also I would like to point out that satan and anyone who listens to bullshit put out by people who like him are liars, how can you believbe anything coming from them?
i think that out of all the questions given to lavey, this was a fairly intelligent one. Rather than others constantly bringing up satanic abuse history bullcrap, this is a good question that lets us look into the mind of lavey and in turn let us see a more religiously tolerant side of him 'That religion can be used to better people'. In some cases this is true. that if one wishes to contribute to a certain faith, let him, if he feels it makes him happy and helps him better himself. Nice answer.
I had answered the God question totally different. For example by claiming that I find it absurd to believe in a God you can neither see, nor witness otherwise, just because his existence is claimed in an old book and that people call a God of massmurder and revenge, a God who doesn´t answer most prayers a God of love and compassion. But- sorry- LaVey seems to be missing strenghth here, anyway. He seems to be very insecure to me.
@jadethevirginqueen Createspace, a subsidiary of Amazon, has turned me down because the licensed content I have is slightly blurry at the bottom of the screen. Youtube turned me down to rent it, because my channel does not get enough viewers. @davindersingharora no name at all — is seen as the balancing factor in nature, and not as being concerned with suffering. This powerful force which permeates and balances the universe is far too impersonal to care about the happiness or misery of flesh-and-blood creatures on this ball of dirt upon which we live." ~Anton Szandor LaVey
@davindersingharora "It is a popular misconception that the Satanist does not believe in God. The concept of 'God,' as interpreted by man, has been so varied throughout the ages, that the Satanist simply accepts the definition which suits him best. Man has always created his gods, rather than his gods creating him. God is, to some, benign—to others, terrifying. To the Satanist 'God' — by whatever name he is called
@davindersingharora I think what LaVey is implying is that metaphorically "god," by whatever name, exists as a representation of a source of inspiration. The archetype of Satan symbolically represents "god" as that inspiration for Satanists. Easily misinterpreted, and no doubt difficult to explain on a TV show. But, I'm quite sure he meant it metaphorically rather than literally.
@davindersingharora it really quite depends on your definition of god. an atheist is a non-theist, meaning they do not believe in gods as DIETIES. however, to believe in a God as a conceptualization of the beauty in nature, or natural patterns, collective consciousness, any of these things is another matter entirely.
i'm an atheist but i believe in what some people have vastly (and i mean vastly) over simplified and personified by calling it "god" and assigning a very human imprint to it.
Why haven't I seen this before? Awesome! LaVey was a practicing sorcerer, wizard, warlock, and shaman. The Devil's councilor. Shemhamforash! Hail Satan!
My understanding of "God" in relation to Satanism is it's the balancing force in nature and an externalised personification of man's carnal ego.
