I've never seen a group who's had to change there name after 30 years of begin in the biz. What sense does that make? When they severed ties with Prince, each of the members wanted to be identified separate and independent of "The Time." This is because Prince was the focus in the industry and they wanted their own identities acknowledged. I do not blame them. They are all talented. However, Prince has a right to protect his copyrights as he sees fit.

I'm sure it would be very convenient and profitable for them to fall back on "The Time" fame in their latter years for promotion purposes. But because they are talented musicians/performers and professionals, they should respect and understand his decision. I love "The Time"! So, I would not have problem with purchasing their music. Just don't mess with my man, Prince.

Prince is definitely a genius musically and his rendition is great. But Tevin put some kind of stamp on this song and I just dont know what it was. Tevin wasnt even trying to sing plus he was only like 15 yrs old. But Prince's version sounds good with the real instruments I must admit. But tevin's vocals supercedes anything else IMO.
