I really liked LiveLoveA$AP. Yes the production was incredible but I also thought Rocky brought forth a real gangster tip in NY Hip Hop not heard in a while. Rocky comes off as a true thug and the LP for me is great.
live love a$ap is just a great combination of the beats especially clams casino. Also asap's personal style which is like a combo of southern rap mixed with bone thugs.
As far as Harlem goes. The only 3 relevant emcees reppin Harlem so far is A$AP Rocky, Vado, & Charles Hamilton. Out of all 3... I'm a bigger fan Charles Hamilton.
Sure he's insane. But he makes great music. I hope he gets better so he can start making more music. But if making music is part of his problem, I can deal.
men fuck u jackass get ur info right b4 u start talking smack on others for one he not from new york Harlem and asap is the biggest movement men i wish i can see i wold beat u to fucking death !!!
as always good review Antony!! feel the same about this tape. My favs are Purple Swag & Get Lit. It's kinda funny cause usually I DONT LISTEN to this kind of music.. but there is something with this tape that makes me feel highhhhh
kissing pink is my favorite track on this album. when i first heard the beat i already knew it was going right back on replay. then i heard fergs verse and i thought it sucked. but after really analyzing the song it hit me, fergs verse makes the song. something like an acquired taste, the beat gives you the feeling and the words are the taste. "are you in it for the feeling or the taste?
you have to ALREADY know and like ferg to like and appreciate his verse on kissin pink lol - i felt like that at first until i really listened to ferg and THEN i ended up lovin his verse now
"puts you into the high" You are not lying! Lol i don't want anything to do with weed but I feel like I'm in a smoked out room listening to Rocky. However I've become a big fan of this mixtape recently because of his flow and the beats...I never look to rapper for their lyrics...I read books.
And yea Clams Casino DID those beats!! You my sir have just earned a new subscriber..I love the in-depth review!
Great review, nail on the vibes the ablum gives, never smoked but feel like i did when listening to it, impressive and so different, he is not a lyric master, but has a great vibe and flow, remind me of ez-e
i don't always agree with you, but i think you nailed this one. even though i don't always agree though, i like to watch your vids to check out new artists and i like that you have your own opinions and you don't give a fuck if we care or not, and you're like the most musically knowledgable guy i've ever seen/heard of (aside from probably ?uestlove) so i have a lot of respect
A$AP was wearing Holders of Gold loyalty way before Peso. Rocky was ghostwriting for a few big name Harlem artists b4 he blew, no need to say names., he's who they stole their style from... *Jim Jones* cough.
I agree with you the beats make this mix tape. I don't really read into the lyrics I think he wants you to listen to the beats. Leaf is so beautiful the chords and singing in the background is crazy. Also the almost gregorian chant sound of Palace is great. Those are my 2 favorites for sure. I like it a lot. And i think that if people are expecting some crazy bars look elsewhere.
this dude cant review for ish! A$AP is clearly better then how you describe he is. do you actually listen to music or do u jus skim through it?! dumass!
THIS ALBUM IS THE BEST ALBUM IVE EVER HEARD....... THIS YEAR.. HES A BLACK HIPPY ON A SKATE BOARD WITH A BUSINESS MIND LIKE MASTER P......STAY UP ROCKY
I'm so glad that he said that A$AP Rocky's song "Bass" was one of the best hip hop beats he heard in a while, because I COMPLETELY agree. He really made a lot of sense in this review in my eyes.
Dude I fuckin love this guy. I literally couldn't have explained LiveLoveA$AP better. One long drug enduced coma brought on by weed and cough syrup. I'm subscribing.

I agree. I think a$ap lacks lyrics, but that's not why I listen to him. I listen to him when I want to chill. His mellow beats and laid back vocals make that pretty easy.
WOW! yo son..you hit the nail on the head with this review..this mixtapes is better than most albums that have come out lately and the song "Get Lit" puts me at a high like no other..props to you on this review!
This was a perfect review! I agree 100 percent with the part about putting you in the High. Which is why I listen to this when I'm High, Thumbs up If you listen to ASAP Rocky when your high!
You have a lot of experience with reviews :) true he is repetitive but his voice and the atmosphere that's created with the beats gets me high...and I'm not smoking or sipping lol
Well I havent heard his Album, because he doesnt have one yet....its a mixtape bro,but besides that his mixtape Was fuckin dope ass fuck...Every track on that mixtape is fuckin dope.Very different from other rappers that I've heard and Imm stickin with ASAP Rocky
The only bummer thing about this mixtape is definitely Rocky's repetitiveness. Oh, and Acid Drip, god that song blows. I dunno why I dislike it so much.
If you get a chance, Roc Marciano- Greneberg, Asher Roth- Pabst and Jazz. Some older material, Ras Kass- Soul on Ice, Clipse- Hell Hath No Fury, Pacewon and Mr Green- Only Color That Matters is Green, Cunninlynguists- Dirty Acres.
frankly i don't understand how Black & Brown EP and this can have the same rating. One is lyrical genius, the other is great production w/ some very average lyricism. Don't get me wrong I like this mixtape, but Danny is breaking new ground in hip/hop lyrically. This is more party music, while Danny's is infinitely replayable bc of his complex rhyme schemes, alliteration and flow. I still like this tape though.
ASAP Rocky is for sure influenced by Lil B, beautiful Lou & Clams Casino were both Lil B's producers.
And Asap Rocky is the type of person you'd wanna bump in your car, or just listen to when you feel like chilling, I know for a fact when im chilling and in a good mood sometimes i dont wanna hear some lyrical/through provoking shit that will change my mood lol....He's cool
ASAP Rocky is for sure influenced by Lil B, beautiful Lou & Clams Casino were both Lil B's producers.

Wooo once again another great review, I pretty much agreed on everything you said except for the fact that ive been singing asap fergs part over and over loll.
asap rocky has the ability to be a good lyricist, the song "toast to the gods" is a good example.. shame it wasnt on the mixtape though... i did enjoy his signing and his use of melodic vocals (bone thugs influence) on kissing pink and demons
The first listen through, I found the mixtape to be just okay, but it really grew on me. Yeah, he is not lyrical but his lyrics get the jobs done, and the production on this is pretty good. Overall this is in my top 5 mixtapes this year. I think its 3rd behind ReturnOf4Eva from Big KRIT
Honestly, the other rappers, even though they might not be as talented as him, make him at least seem a lot better. Like the Purple Swag Chp. 2, even though SpaceGoast Purp has a nice verse, when Rocky comes in, he kills it. The other rappers really put him on a pedestal. The only rapper personally that is close to his talent is Schoolboy Q and mayb Main Attrak. Its funny though cause the Asap Nas is really dope (his freestly for Pitchfork) but he doesnt bring it out in this mixtape
Lyrically ASAP is whatever and sometimes he can't really rap, but the beats really do come through. Really, the guy who makes the beats on this album should get some acknowledgement because without him ASAP would be less than a mediocre rapper.
@chimchar545 multiple producers, the clams casino beats are the standouts though (wassup, palace, bass, and 2 or 3 others). i thought kissin pink was decent, it would've been bad w/o the beat but the production makes up for the lyrics.
I could never discuss music with Anthony. He just knows so friggen much.

ASAP Rocky is for sure influenced by Lil B, beautiful Lou & Clams Casino were both Lil B's producers.
And Asap Rocky is the type of person you'd wanna bump in your car, or just listen to when you feel like chilling, I know for a fact when im chilling and in a good mood sometimes i dont wanna hear some lyrical/through provoking shit that will change my mood lol....He's cool

asap rocky has the ability to be a good lyricist, the song "toast to the gods" is a good example.. shame it wasnt on the mixtape though... i did enjoy his signing and his use of melodic vocals (bone thugs influence) on kissing pink and demons

After listening to this, I concluded (IMO)
Lil B when he's trying > ASAP Rocky
Lyrically ASAP is whatever and sometimes he can't really rap, but the beats really do come through. Really, the guy who makes the beats on this album should get some acknowledgement because without him ASAP would be less than a mediocre rapper.

@chimchar545 multiple producers, the clams casino beats are the standouts though (wassup, palace, bass, and 2 or 3 others). i thought kissin pink was decent, it would've been bad w/o the beat but the production makes up for the lyrics.
