Nice time! Have you tried skipping the 3 mushroom boxes on laps 2 and 3? Let me know if that works better!

Passing up those boxes is slower because my vehicle's top speed is too slow. This causes me to also lose the opportunity to get an extra super star because I arrive too early to get the first one on lap two that I normally get, but not fast enough to compensate for the loss of the star. I found having two mushrooms left over instead of one (like I did in this video) makes timing the star much easier while still getting the mushroom boost benefit.

I found your suggestion to skip the mushrooms on lap 3 to work better! Unlike lap 2, the timing for gaining the first star ends up almost perfect without the mushrooms, so therefore I get both stars! Even better is that I can now get the second star box earlier, allowing me to take the "normal" route, which ironically enough is faster to take when using a super star than the "shortcut".
