Fight of the year NO DOUBT. I was a big PW fan before this (still am), but after this fight, I'm a big Martinez fan as well. That guy has SKILL and HEART. Like Lampley said during the fight, he's a super version of Quintana who was also able to tag PW many times in their first fight. Those two seem to have similar over-hand punching styles which PW finds difficult to deal with.

That judge who scored it 119-110 should never work a fight again....absolutely disgusting!!

naa i don't think it was a robbery. it was a close fight though. the 119-110 score was disgusting though. funeka-guzman was a robbery but not this fight because it's a close fight. either man can win it i think. i did see martinez winning the fight though.

Paul Williams WON.....its just that 1 judge's scorecard that made it SEEM like a robbery...it was a great fight with the momentum switching but Paul finished like a champion and HE was the one who fought coming forward being the aggressor...even with the cut he had

Paul finished like a champion???/ LOL!!! Yeah, he came forward and paid the price for it. Sergio Martinez landed several big punches throughout the fight. Just ask PW how his neck feels because it was getting snapped back with ease. It was clearly ROBBERY. Sergio won easily.

martinez has the kinda tools quintana has(and i dont think it was a fluke he won, nor was the first round ko) so i can c him winning, but i dont think thats wats gonna happen. IF serg can get into a rythm he can frustrate alot of guys, but pauls physical advtgs makes that so difficult and i c him taking this by ud or even ko. I got the punisher. btw i wouldnt mind seeing him or chad in the super 6 if J.T. does drop out.

Agreed. I do c K.O. 4 PW, possibly. What has bugged me about this fight is W's cheerleaders that fail 2 analyze this fight for what it is. It's not an easy fight 4 PW. I think his best chance is to jump on M early like he did on Quintana in the rematch. PW didn't wanna play with Q's boxing skills, so he took him out early. Good call, but we learned little from that fight. PW, too. Pressure will be key here, but like u say, M is not stationary like the fighters PW "walked through". good fight!

Williams needs to batter Mundine in Australia, he's holding a couple of belts in that division and spends his whole life whinging that he can't get a break.

I'd love Williams to call out Mundine, he'd destroy him and it's be a great fight for Williams to take on as an away fight, as most Aussies would be behind Williams because Mundine has always promoted himself as the bad guy.
