This is lyrical jazz. Contemporary dance is not "in between modern and jazz". There aren't bounds to this art and because of this people find it hard to pinpoint what it is because there isn't necessarily a "style". Watch some Rosemary Lee. Watch some Neat Timothy. Watch Merce Cunningham. Watch Martha Graham. Watch some Rafael Bonachela. Watch some William Forscythe. Watch some Richard Alston. These guys are/were contemporary. The guys above are good at what they do, but it's lyrical jazz. ;)

Obviously, eyes were drawn to the girl in white, even if you attempted to watch the other dancers too. I do have a suggestion though: Dress like dancers. I don't mean that harshly. It's just that all the extra clothing is distracting. Other than that, you ladies danced beautifully.

all the comments about the girl in white. Yes she's good, but it's probably her choreography and she's probably teaching the others. To be fair as well the other girls look as though they're more ballet than contemporary but they all look like they're excellent dancers! Well done :)

I dance like this at my dance school. And the girls in the back kinda look like they dont know what they are doing. When you dance, you have to have passion, courage, strength, and love. I dont dance because my parents want me too, I dance because I love it, and even if something doesnt dance that good, it only matters if you are trying your hardest. :D

actually if you are a contemporary or ballet dancer, you would appreciate the girl in white. dancing is not just doing sequence of steps, you must feel and connect with the song and the steps. she's a strong one :))

by the way... to anybody who is asking about becoming a dancer... if you are under 18, and you are JUST starting, or are going to... you have potential. Stanford and Harvard articles from the 1990's show that your brain right now is in the stage of forming, so go ahead! If you train your body, and practice a LOT you can do anything :) Don't listen to the body-type crap... I'm 12 years old, I'm not a stick, but I'm not an apple. I can still dance well. Go ahead and chase what you want to do! :)

Its a good dance but you guys need to learn how to dance with emotion. Theres a reason the girl in white is in the front, because when she dances you can tell she wants to be there doing that. The rest of you need to learn how to show emotion when you dance. Dont be so stiff, let lose, have fun, it'll make it look better.
