you obviously are ignorant when it comes to Italian history. the Nazi's never ruled in Italy ,that was germany! Italy was Fascist. There is no modern Communist country and NEVER has been!

But the germans pretty much ran things, when italy "switched" to the allies side, the germans seized control and made the north a new version of the previous puppet state.
