In the 8th Generation of Masons in my family, only three of them joined lodges and got their 33rd degree. The irony is, the ones that didn't joined lodges knew more. @DeerParkNewsWire I never said I was born into it, I said that it was a way of life in my family since everybody were Masons. In the 8th Generation of Masons in my family, only three of them joined lodges and got their 33rd degree. The irony is, the ones that didn't joined lodges knew more. For instance, my father had much more to teach my Grandfather who was a lodge member and got his 33rd degree fairly quickly since he already knew most of what they were teaching; and more.

to be come offically a mason you must go through 3 ceremonies and tests and the 3rd degree is which makes you a mason which can only be conducted afar as I know in a lodge by legal masons.
You need a certain ammount of masons to even hold a lodge, one mason cant make anyone a mason by himself.

I am a devout Catholic who loves God above all else and still am a Mason. It's a great brotherhood that has taught me to be the best I can be with God, family and my fellow men. I like it when Freemasons drop by and point out the errors in these rituals. They don't deny the ritual, which seems to be their intent, they confirm them in saying the video is full of errors. It's like claiming there not a religion yet introduce every conceivable religion into their cult. I love how every Freemason I have ever spoken to gives a totally different account as who they worship. E.G...''We worship Jesus Christ'' ... another candidly says '' We worship Lucifer '' another states '' We dont worship anything ''. Now either im wrong, or is Masonry the most unsure, unbiblical place of union EVER.

@rinceresource ME a liar ? I am only putting out what i have heard from Masons firsthand. If you pay attention to people that have responded to my comment, you will notice the same exact confused answers. Some told me they are free to pray to whom they feel, and others like yourself claim that there is no such thing. So, maybe it is them that you should address the issue with.

@ceriah311 there are prayers offered generically like at any other public meeting with no 'in Jesus name, etc.' to show the universal nature of it all. the individual can of course pray to whomever he wants. i just don't get people saying we are a religion; we absolutely are not. they discourage us from turning the lodge into our church of sorts. masonry can't and doesn't profess to save anyone but does encourage us to seek out our own salvation through our own professed faith.

@rinceresource Prayer - the act of communicating with a deity (especially as a petition or in adoration or contrition or thanksgiving). Being this definition pretty much sums the idea that a prayer requires a diety, what exactly is the point of a generic prayer if there is no god that all lodge members recognize and observe. Forgive me if I sound pretentious, but i cant help but notice that there is holes in the explanation of a universal prayer that isnt intended to be answered by a god.

@ceriah311 Masonry is NOT A RELIGION. Any Mason is free to worship WHATEVER HE WANTS. There is no religious activity in Masonic rituals except for a non-denominational prayer at the opening and closing.

Masons Secret? Every Lodge has a sign on it,nearly every Lodge has its own web site,most masons wear rings showing that they are masons,if we wanted to keep it secret we're not doing a very good job are we? What goes on in the lodge itself is for members only, just keeps things more interesting,if everyone knew what whent on in a Lodge they would be very very disapointed,no devil worship,no goats and no new world oder LOL

@deadpoulet What about the other orders that dont have 32 degrees like the York rite and the other orders that also rule the grand lodges as there is 5 branches of ancient and modern orders that control modern freemasonry not just scotish rite masonry. Dont these grand masters rate as much as scotish rite masons ?

@beginization what are you talking about??? there are three options for master masons in the blue lodge: york rite, scottish rite and shrine. there are no others other than honorary clubs inside those other bodies.

@DeerParkNewsWire You may think being in the a high degree number makes you higher as a mason but freemasonry does not work that way, the york rite for example does not have many or the bluelodge only 3 and the scotish rite may have 32 but that does mean you get to learn more as most you skip right through most. When I did a Markman degree to get my mark I was told that Markman freemasonry was one of the ancient forms which became part of the second degree, in time you will know them, patience

The problem is you guys don't understand what the whole point of TRUE-MASONRY is because you get caught up with the physical and totally lose sight of the spiritual. Everything is all about accumilating wealth and power. The sad part is, when you die it will be too late to understand what true Masonry is all about. If you knew about masonry you would not be so frieghtened as it is just freemasonry which is just a entry point into another society which has many functions and events all over the world, Matt Goening who makes the Simpsons and Futurama is a freemason and includes stories and images in his shows

It's funny, I was debating my step-grandfather who is a 33rd degree shriner and an operative mason in my country about a few things that I know, he was amazed with my wealth of knowledge outside of the lodge. The same goes for my Grand mother. The truth is, in Haiti most of the elite class/educated people are exposed to a lot of masonic light. It's in our blood! Most haitians don't understand how powerful their minds r.

I know your country has alot intersted in voodoo and many religous practices so are a spiritual people by the sound of it

@beginization I have heard these words repeatedly. Unfortunately, I am a teacher by nature and love to share my knowledge with others. To put this plainly, I am not big on secrecy. I guess you can say that is the luxury of being a so-called "Clandestine Mason", there is no governing body supervising your every move, controlling what should be revealed and what should be kept hidden from you. I might follow my Grand Father's footsteps and join a lodge when I get in my 50s. Only time will tell.
