Marcus blows Flea away! Flea gets a little sloppy at times where marcus is tight and focused.

Marcus is the best slap and pop bassist. Better than Wooten, he's just too busy Victor and gets sloppy as well. The only other guy that can give Marcus competition is richard Bona .

Jaco is still the legend of all time though. Marcus himself will admit that, he learned from Jaco !

Marcus Miller plays amzingly well, when he plays his personality shines through his playing. I love to hear him play. I can say exactly the same thing about Flea. They are both wonderfully talented musicians. Why not just enjoy the fact that there are many amazing musicians out there to listen to and learn from. Comparing talents is subjective and open to perception and taste.

I think Flea and Miller are two different kind of grooves, yknow? Flea is blending funk style riffs in a rock setting, so he goes really fast (which is damn impressive) and guys like Miller are more traditional bass virtuosos, so it is groovier. They're both gods though.
