Actually there is an episode after BOT and it's called "Scramble City". It featured Ultra Magnus, Metroplex, Ramhorn, Steeljaw under the command of Optimus Prime and Trypticon under the command of Megatron. That and the Ultra Maguns commercial(that showed Optimus being on cybertron and Utlra Magnus battling the combaticons and Skywarp on earth) led up to the movie from season 2. The only problem was it was only shown in Japan at the time not th US. It's listed under Scramble City Reloaded here.

@DarthAzmul I'd say it's the other way around, since this episode has something funny, Swindle displeasing Megatron when he couldn't find Brawl's personality component; what I find funny is Megatron furiously yelling Swindle's name, especially when he warns him that he still has that bomb ticking in his head that Soundwave put in (even Starscream warned him about it after he was ordered to bring Swindle to Decepticon HQ)

@fluttershy122345 I think that was like a deadline for Swindle to do Megatron's bidding (it even looks as if, when Megatron got over his displeasure at Starscream which he had in 'Starscream's Brigade' and until the end of 'The Revenge of Bruticus', he now had Swindle to vent his bad temper out on by THIS episode) [though Starscream did go back onto displeasing Megatron in the following episode...the movie!]

Not exactly.

They were renegade Decepticons (likely in opposition to Megatron) whom Starscream built new bodies for (their originals were destroyed) as part of an attempted coup. After Starscream's defeat and the Combaticons' attempted revenge, Megs had their combined form reprogrammed (possibly lowering his intelligence). They now serve Megatron, but warrant a secondary base as a special team, I guess.

This is awful. I can't believe how hurried this episode is. Bruticus shows up and attacks the humans for no reason. Then Defensor kills him with one blast and walks away. Then Swindle leaves a bread trail of parts falling out of a trailer that is smaller than him, but somehow contains all five of his comrades.

This one barely shows anything about the Protectobots, beyond what they can do lol. The Headmasters show has a LOT more combiner giant battles: pretty sweet :D
