  • Attracted to the "bad boy"; a girl trys to 'fix' him....now she don't like the fixed version.

This proves women don't know what they want; and men should just be men.

  • @kennethj1956 You do realize these girls were under 18 and in their very late teens when they were together? These were songs about young girls exploring what they wanted and only dipping their toe into what life is really like.

  • One of the best songs ever. Blondie recorded a great cover version.

  • okay u guys! lets talk about gorillaz on gorillaz videos!

  • Who wrote this stuff?

  • @Khultan Jeff Barry - Ellie Greenwich. legendary Brill Building composers.

Their next hits were all by Shadow Morton though.

  • @Brent441 In the final verse, the lyric is "they're waitin down there, I know I've got to set him free (send him back)"

    :)

  • MUMBLE MUMBLE lol

    The backing vocal lyrics:

(Can't you see?) instead of (Yes he did now)

(Somethin's gone) instead of the first (mumble mumble)

(Send him back) should be right after "I know I got to set him free".

  • @MrWucky oops - there's only one (mumble mumble) ;0)

  • @JoeyMondayRefused srry, i guess i hate it when ppl comment about jb or anything on gorillaz songs, so i'll keep gorillaz to myself. everybody has their own taste, so all music is good in the end.

  • murdoc played this song on his pirate radio

  • @ThundermanX17

I know right, I think it's one of the songs that describes him and it also might be how he might think this is what the real Noodle might think about him when she finally comes back.

  • @MsAnimeFan88 yeah i know

  • @ThundermanX17

I like the fact that he played Nancy Sinatra's 'You only live Twice' after he mentioned Noodle. got the meaning behind that one, Cyborg Noodle and real Noodle.

  • @MsAnimeFan88 i like the song from kirk douglas.

Murdoc: LISTEN TO KIIIIIIIIRK!!! listen to kirk

  • @ThundermanX17

lol, I liked that song too. His broadcasts were really good and hilarious.

  • @MsAnimeFan88 all thanks to his rum lol i hope it will be on the phase three dvd and if so it is animated with the audio

  • @ThundermanX17

it would be interesting if it was animated, I'd buy it. glad there will be a 4th album.

  • @MsAnimeFan88 i wonder if it would be called plastic beach pt 2

  • @ThundermanX17

don't know, because I don't think there will be a P-Sides because it seems that this album is kind of like a story. This is why Gorillaz need a full length feature film.

  • i love the blondie cover of this

  • Where is more info?

  • A spiritual re-awakening. Sweet, sweet angelic voices (especially Mary's). Perfectly captures an era.

  • Perfect song, magical production and arrangement.

  • underrated

  • my fav girl group of the 60s

  • The significance of this song to New York radio history deserves mention: It was the very last song played by 1010 WINS as a music station, by Johnny Holliday, prior to 8 P.M. on April 18, 1965. The next morning, April 19, WINS became an all-news station, which it remains today.

  • oh my goodness. just listened to the sharleen ''rip-off'' spiteri song. put that woman in jail for robbery.

  • Rubbish, the lyrics are completely different, it's got one rift at the start that is similar and that's it. Did you think that music these days is unique? much of it has been done before, so there's bound to be overlaps occasionally. Totally unfair of you to call it a 'rip off' though.

  • Agreed! You can play them side by side. Although the styles are similar, the lyrics are totally different. Given the current rash of shit in popular music these days, Sharleen Spiteri is a breath of fresh air!

  • @juzzlookin "Agreed! You can play them side by side. Although the styles are similar, the lyrics are totally different. Given the current rash of CRAP in popular music these days, Sharleen Spiteri is a breath of fresh air!"

  • she re-did this?

  • Brent: is there a way for me to find the sheetmusic for the girl groups hits?

I"mstarting apower metal band caled Midnight sun& the girlgroups will be apart of our sound

  • Keep your eye on Ebay....the various sheet music releases come up for purchase on Ebay periodically. But for a significant library, you would have to find an alternative source.

  • This song is really great. Today was the first time I actually listen to it and it's great.

  • That Spiteri song IS shameful. And it sucks compared to the real thing. Bitch.

  • 39 seconds into this video we see a poster showing two of the Shangri las striking a highland dance pose. This was a salute to their great friend and mentor the Scottish psychiatrist Doctor Charles Follen McKim Maloney who was an accomplished highland dancer.

  • It is a fact that psychiatrist Charles Follen McKim Maloney, sometimes referred to by associates as "The Dancing Doc" was indeed an accomplished highland dancer. He often blended his highland steps in many of his choreography routines.

  • This song has recently been plagiarised by the shameful singer Sharleen Spiteri, who has also blatantly copied everything about Amy Winehouse. Spiteri's unoriginal copy right infringing 'song' is called "all the times I cried". Compare them! Her copying, and her unoriginal sound are unmistakable! I hope the fat cow gets sued!

  • Ö it's true

  • Oh my God. Just listened to the Sharleen Spiteri song. I see what you mean. You'd think there would have been court case.

  • perhaps there will be as more people become aware of it!

  • dang, the one with long hair is pretty hot

  • Mary Weiss?

  • Mary (the one with long hair) Weiss has just relaunched a solo career. Unfortunately, the other two girls Maryanne and Margie are no longer with us. Mary's sister Liz who was in the line up some of the time is happilly retired.

I saw one of Mary's shows recently and believe me - although she's about 58/59 now - she's still pretty hot and sounds great!

  • THANK YOU 4 posting this! LOVE it. Kinda hard to find. Love it! x

  • Coming from a man who mostly listens to noise-rock and has an increasing interest in Trip-Hop: This is one of the most amazing pop songs I've ever heard.

  • Brent -

The "mumble, mumble" in line 14 sounds to me like "Something's lost".

I know the accent. I have it. Despite my nick, I was starting a neighboring high school as these gals were finishing up. Some of my older friends knew them.

  • More than precious.

  • Precious sixties girlie sound!!!!!

  • Brent441, I should have known this was in Your collection lol. Love it

  • NOTE; Click on (more info) to see the LYRICS to this great song...Please let me know of any omissions or errors...Thank You...
