  • I remember when I started band so many ages ago in the 5th grade and I had Mr. Sherin. I miss the guy now, but I had to move on. This coming year I'll be playing in the High school band and hopefully be keeping the sweepstakes streak going. I must say I am proud to have been a part of this school because our many wonderful musicians.

  • My middle school band is playing this and I play French Horn. My band teacher told me that I have the be the best in the band at thsi song because I'm first chair horn and it's really hard because I've only been playing horn for 1/2 a year and only in 7th grade.

Love the song though it's my favorite we're playing

  • In my high school our band was split into two bands because of our size...concert band and symphonic band. The symphonic band performed this piece when I was a sophomore. I played the oboe part...definitely one of my favorites throughout my years in HS band.

  • This almost reminds me of the Chorale for Snow White.

  • We're playing this in the LWSD Honor Band for junior high students, mainly 9th graders, it is by far my favorite out of all of the pieces we are playing. We are playing it on Tuesday.

  • I'm a senior in high school and we are playing this for fesitval in the spring. We are just starting on it and i hope we sound like them by the end

  • We played this for Honor Band when we were in Middle School....It was VERY moving.....There was NOT a dry eye in the room.

I never liked it that much to play, but listening to it is really nice. for a horn player. lol.

    gratz on perfecting it.

  • I'm a french horn player myself; the horns in this song have a very powerful, flowing part in the middle and it was executed very well by the players in this band! Good balance all the way through, very emotional song and this is an excellent rendition of it!

  • Larry Daehn wrote this song about his mother Louis Daehn who died. He includes many allusions of conversations he had with his mother, amazing song.
