You were watching a movie. Please do not confuse Mel Gibsons' art with your spiritual heart and path. Even though the movie was "passionate", it was also one of the most violent films I have ever seen. I would never let my kids see this film. Maybe your heart was telling you not to get over taken by an artist who went alittle over the top. It was not Jesus, it was a film.

The romans were experts at crucifixions thus they would make them as violent and bloody as possible it was the most painful of deaths, slow and drawn out, I think the film was actually quite historically accurate, and yes i agree there is hollywood thrown in there but your kids sooner or later are going to see the movie

Before you start saying that evolution is totally false because "why wouldn't all apes be humans," read about what evolution is and learn it. Different species react to different environments, survival of the fittest. People are still evolving today, and if you don't believe that, open your eyes and look around.
