  • Norm's balls effect the global tides.

  • More relevant today than ever. Norm is a prophet among men. From his departure, the show has gotten painfully unwatchable each week. The Anna Faris episode yesterday was brutal.

  • Lol

  • Calm down both of yous. Norm's Canadian, anyways. By the way, WWII ended because of pissed of whales sinking the submarines. Don't fuck with them whales. They be crazy.

  • Well I wanted to see this on Hulu, but I can't, cause I am not an american... This is why the world hates America! It's communist restriction shit like this. Bad taste nationalism, when they need other countries to support their military activities and bases, sure... you do get a bone, but never give one back. I'm from Romania, don't have any business with America, but shit like this is annoying.

  • @onaradu what do u mean we never give anything back? ever hear of WWII? without the U.S. Hitler would probably own most of Europe if not all of Europe or even most of the world. japan would own the philippines and china. every serious natural disaster to hit a country the U.S. is first to respond and help all that it can. To most people around the world, especially to those whose understanding of history is little, most will say that WW2 ended because of American intervention.

  • @001THERev Dude... WWII ended because of Russia, not US. Russia was the first country to enter Berlin and push the nazis back, it was the country to demolish the reichstag and it still has the trophy eagle, from the reichstag in a Moscow museum. Let's not forget that US is not God... they interfered in other people stuff (cause of that Pearl Harbor happened) and used atomic weapons... anyway, lets not compare US to Russia (US would be desert in a week if Russia would want) and war (fuck war)

  • @onaradu

Technically, that wouldn't have been possible without the U.S.; it was American who helped fund Britain with a large financial loan, and cooperation between the two nations that lead to Britain being able to ultimately withstand Hitler's efforts, then fighting back from the two lead Hitler to put off then abandone the bombing and annexation of Britain.

  • Which allowed forced to be mobilized against the two and take preassure off Russia, who were initially on Hitler's side. Only when Hitler's suddenly betrayed them and invaded from within, Russia was able to fight them back. Most especially since Hitle's army were deeply unprepared for the Russian winter. Without the U.S.'s involvement, Russia wouldn't have been able to pull off what it did.

    Norm rules, by the way.

  • @onaradu I think the restriction is based on your country's laws, not the US. I can't watch Hulu and some other sites here in Canada, but I've heard this is because of my country's laws involving watching content on the internet, I think it has to do something with local tv providers and distributors not having to compete with services like these. America is a globalist, capitalist nation and Hulu wants to make money, so I can't imagine why they'd want to restrict you from their own services.

  • legend...

  • 11 people are NBC managment

  • THAT'S MY HERO!

  • Dumb unfunny celebs host it all the time

  • Brutally honest, completely without ego, sharp as a tack, funny as all hell... Norm is the man.

  • @RollingOrmond You don't like him, that sure doesn't make him a "shitty comedian"...more likely makes you someone who has a higher value of your opinion than it warrants.

  • @RollingOrmond how can he be a shitty comedian when most people love norm..........................

aka my dick up your ass and you sucking my dick.....so how does my cum taste in your mouth ummm yeah you pretentious little dirty slut

  • @plainstudman Because most people are slack-jawed morons like yourself, going by your amazingly creative insult.

  • Norm Macdonald is the realest comedian. He's got balls saying things that he knows might piss some people off-and he's getting some boo's here-but he doesn't give a shit.

  • "Alright guys we got a bad show for you tonight..." Hahaha, ahh Norm. So funny. Why doesnt anyone on the show laugh as hard as they should.

  • I wonder who the people were that booed at around 2:49 when Norm joked that the show had gotten really bad. Were they people who worked on the show? I can't see why a regular audience member who boo at that joke.

  • @sbtbfanatic norm said it was the writers in the back booing together haha

  • @kappagirl981 Thanks. Were they pissed off, or were they just joking around? I bet they were pissed off!

  • norm macdonald had a farm best one on the show, fuck snl up to date ei ei yeah you get where i'm going from there. katatan is a punk bitch / norm tells kattan to be the girl and he does it. ... XD

  • Is the full episode available on a torrent anywhere?

  • @sbtbfanatic i don't think so but if you're american you can watch it at hulu (200380/saturday-night-live-norm-macdonald)

  • @sbtbfanatic Try Hulu. I know that either a large portion or the entire episode is available there.

  • Possibly the best SNL opening ever.

  • he didnt get fired midway through 97-98, he left the show but he was fired from update by nbc west coast president don ohlmeyer on december 13, 1997

  • He killed.

  • Norm, I didn't find you funny before, but after hearing this, you've delivered one of the funniest monologues in SNL history.

  • I remember tuning in just to see him host and laughing my ass off when he did this.

    Way to go norm!

  • @napalmsundae You didnt get his jokes at all he bombed on purpose

  • @napalmsundae

You're probably more into the comedy awesomeness of Dane Cook or Family Guy. Please die of cancerAIDS.

  • @napalmsundae hes gonna be pissed when he inevitably reads this post dude

  • Ohlemeyer ruined this show.

  • You can hear some show lackeys trying to boo in the background when he says the show isn't funny

  • "folks we got a bad show for you tonight..." the actual musical guests that night make this normally lame line incredibly epic. what a genius.

  • it was beacuse he made so much fun of OJ

  • SNL sucked when Norm was a cast member. The highlight of every episode was him doing the Weekend Update. Also it was great when he appeared in sketches which was rare. I remember one with Sly Stallone stuck in a car wreck and Norm happens to walk by, and before helping him out starts listing all the bad movies Stallone has made. Paraphrase "How about the movie 'Over the Top', it combined the emotional drama of a custody child hearing with, uh.. ARM WRESTLING!!"

  • @AmericanGirlzWebshow Is she dead yet? I sure hope so.

  • Snl has always been pretty bad

  • norm macdonald = funniest motherfucker ever.

  • man, i wish he had done what he originally wanted, and just taken off after the monologue and screw them over completely, LOL!!!

  • greatest monologue ever from the greatest comedian.

  • "How did I suddenly get so goddam funny?!"

You've always been goddam funny, man!

  • SNL was castrated when they got rid of THE MAC.

  • @lioweif And ohlemeyer fired norm over o.j. stuff. Because they were friends...stupid bull shit.

  • @theinstantvincent Did Norm's O.J. Joke at the ESPYs (when he was talking to Charles Woodson) have anything to do with his firing from SNL?

  • I wasn't even aware this was linked to from ED; I just love Norm. Now I have to go searching the site for what pages links here.

  • Norm is The Shit!

    SNL is shit!

  • norm is hilarious

  • I loved when he did the roast of bob saget

  • XD Holy shit that was epic.

  • "How did I suddenly get so goddam funny?"

    Norm's the man.

  • Classic monologue. The people of SNL fired him for being unfunny: so this means that people like Will Ferell and Jimmy Fallon are actually funny? Being fired is never good, but if I were Norm Macdonald, I would take this as a compliment for being good at what he does.

  • Comment removed

  • I love Norm !

  • ETHER

  • Artie Lange said that what Norm wanted to do, after the monologue was over, was just get in his car and leave without doing any of the sketches! It would have destroyed his career, but it would have been epic!

  • @Dibrini

oh fuck man, he should've did that...

I remember watching this live and was half expecting him to just fuck up every sketch he was in purposefully and just freeze and stare at the audience saying nothing and have the cast members just squirming the whole time, haha

  • Everybody being re-directed here from ED? Yup

  • only about 7.9% according to Insight. a lot of people just love Norm Macdonald.

  • @fuckfuckfuck1 It's both reasons for me

  • @fuckfuckfuck1 i like your name

  • @theeyeburninglight

    lol, that's me!

  • haha

  • @theeyeburninglight You're here because you have erectile dysfunction?

  • @masterjoey1029 Encyclopedia Dramatica.

  • BEST MONOLOGUE EVER

  • I think McDonalds is a pretty cool guy, eh insults SNL and doesn't afraid of anything

  • @RobTFirefly how is that funny... you just took the original line and switched a couple words.

  • @RobTFirefly Are you THE rob t firefly?

  • @TheScientist0000000 I'm actually TheScientist0000000.

  • @RobTFirefly er... wait.... am I THE rob t firefly from off the hook?

  • @TheScientist0000000 Quite possibly. :-)

  • @RobTFirefly wow, fancy meeting me here.

  • what a boss

  • "So, yeah, I'm funny compared to - well, you'll see later...." lol Hilarious!

  • Are there any more clips from this episode? Bloody brilliant.

  • Norm, you sir are my hero.

  • norm macdonald is my favorite canadian

  • Norm doesn't take shit from anybody. He's the greatest.

  • Norm is the shit. Only he could take the pseudo olive branch that SNL was offering and shove it right back down their throats. I love how wasn't afraid to say that the show blows.

  • norm is the best!!!

  • that was by far the funniest opening snl monologue i've ever heard

  • Norm hosting + Dre as musical guest right when he dropped Chronic 2001 = one of the best SNL episodes of all-time

  • norm getting fired made everyone else afraid to tell relevant jokes

jokes are boring if they don't mean anything

  • Norm is my hero and possibly one of the greatest Canadians to grace t.v.

  • @teneight78: Do you only look at books with pictures in them?

  • What's funny is that Norm was pretty accurate in saying how the show blew. SNL has suffered severely since his firing. They've had a few funny people on the show, but not nearly enough to really make it all that decent.

  • snl sucks now

  • @DontGoInThere

I have heard people say that the mid 90's cast of SNL (O Teri Kattan, Ferrel, Meadows, Hammond, McDonald etc) was the best cast they had since the original old school SNL guys (Akroyd, Murray, Chase, Curtain)

Things started going downhill once Norm was fired, and I havent watched SNL in almost 10 years

  • @ChannelUmptyThree Did anyone really think that Chris Kattan was funny? I liked the "What is Love" dancing skits, but everything else he did was awful. Remember those awful Mango and monkey-boy skits? Did anyone ever laugh during any of those horrible skits?

  • Norm was awesome, I was like eight years old loving that shit.

  • Hilarity.

  • hahaha ahhh that's great.

  • Oh dear god, I nearly died listening to this. Norm is amazing.

  • Where did you get the video for this episode? It's so hard to find full episodes from the 90s/late 80s. thanks for posting too

  • They are putting out entire seasons of SNL now (granted they are pretty expensive.) It could be a year or two before the 80s/90s are available, but I think they will be worth the wait.

  • I think it's going to be more than a year or two to get to the 90s...They have only released 4 seasons since 2006! I'm awaiting the DVD of the Hartman/Lovitz/Miller/Hooks seasons. several years to go I guess...

  • I love you Norm!

  • What date did this episode air?

  • October 23rd, 1999

  • @fuckfuckfuck1 Is that right? That was a pretty quick return to hosting after being fired, wasn't it?

  • @CanadianGuitarist I think so. I probably googled it back when I answered the guy and that's what I found. Plus I think he got fired sometime in 98 and he says it's a year and a half later.

  • @fuckfuckfuck1 I actually typed it before listening to the full clip; for some reason, I thought he was fired in late 98.

  • Norm is so boss.

  • I heard that after Norm gave this monologue, he was banned from hosting ever again.

That was nine and a half years ago. Now he has actually just appeared in another Celebrity Jeopardy sketch. Not bad.

  • Your name is fuckfuckfuck1... ingenuity at it's finest.

  • i had to sign up to view a video and my annoyance shone through in my username.

  • LOl Norm always makes me laugh.

  • trolling IRL

  • we love you norm ,we love you!

  • This is the greatest moment in SNL history

  • one of the funniest things I've ever heard

  • I remember when this happened. It was great.

  • Norm had a reputation of saying exactly what was on his mind and that didn't jive with to many people.

  • ? whoa everything is up side down

  • erm. what? i think that may be a problem with your browser.

  • question is, how did you reply to him a day before he posted the comment? o_O

  • hmm? his reply was three days ago and mine was two days ago meaning i posted the day after he posted.

  • that was youtube's april fool's joke

  • ohhh

  • This is why today's SNL is god awful. Norm is hilarious...miss those SNL glory days.

  • "We had a disagreement. I wanted to keep my job. They felt the exact opposite."

  • EPIC

  • this is what the french call...

    Le Poetic Justice

  • Norm was great on Update. He's so unique. No wonder he does such a good Letterman impression, his style is like Dave's but still very much his own.

  • They fired Norm because he 'wasn't funny'? What's their excuse for hiring Amy Poehler then?

  • i thought they just "fired" him from weekend update

  • I love this guy. Reminds me of when SNL was actually good. Good times...

  • the ones who booed him must been katan and the others losers

  • katan is a douchebag

  • AN HEROO0o0o0o0o0o0o0

  • God I love Norm. Let's recap, I'm still not funny, the good news is, THE SHOW BLOWS. Hell yeah Norm!

  • thank you thank you thank you for this

  • lol this man is hilarious! He should have never been fired from SNL!

  • what an opportunity for revenge

  • Please, I will blow anyone if they can post the SNL News where Norm says "massive anal bleeding."

  • hahaha

  • @IntenseLowerChafing Remember the Weekend Update where Norm kept talking about anal rape in prison being a deterrence to crime?

  • The show actually was still funny at this point but thank science that Norm had the balls to say that shit after the way they treated him!

  • "Thank science"? Seriously?

  • LOL

  • Great monologue, but why no picture?

I'd love to see the Lou Gehrig skit, that was a Great one!

    thanks for posting

  • I just downloaded this mp3 from fakenews(dot)net and stuck a background on it.

    And no problem.

  • Norm is the greatest. Wish his ABC show would come out on DVD

  • classics2dvd has it.

  • so did he ever get a lawsuit for that

  • It's only slander if it's not true. :p

  • lol.

  • Norm is brilliant.

  • oh god...it hurts...it hurts from laughing!

  • lmao. he is the best guest host on snl ever!

  • good god, hes so awesome

  • THAT WAS AWESOME!! My jaw is broke because

it hit the floor so damn hard!

  • Seeing Norm at Jukebox Comedy Club Sunday

    OMG can't wait!

  • norm got more revenge with this monologue than he did in the entire movie "dirty work"!!!

  • @cowboyfromhell663 I wonder whether Lorne Michaels knew what Norm was going to say before Norm started the monologue...

  • him and Andy Kaufman have the balls of whales. Whale balls.

  • This was the best Monologue EVER !!!

    Norm owns

  • Norm just became my new personal hero.

  • Im seeing Norm on Thursday, Fuck I cant wait. Norm is God.
