  • I have a leather jacket too. How much times a year you must repeat this? 1 or 2 times???

  • You could totally use intimate soap, right? Or would it not be worth it at all...

  • hey dude would u use dubbin on ur jacket

  • i have trouble keeping the shoulders down any tips?

  • Thanks Hedge! I just got my first leather jacket at The Captain's Helm (pretty much the greatest store of all time). I love my leather jacket and denim vest!

  • I have seen some jackets covered in studs, paint and patches. Now I see you answered the paint part and based on your video you would go around the studs, spikes etc...But what about the ones covered in patches? Do you oil through them or what?

  • @Zerohour100 I wouldn't put the oil overtop of patches, since they're cloth.

  • where do u get neatsfoot oil

  • @metalmones at like Kmart or somthing.

  • um...my butlers name is travis :P

  • what if you have painting on your jacket?

  • @KAAOS909 Yeh, I get asked that a lot...I don't know how it'd affect the paint. I'd like try a little bit and see, in a spot where it won't be noticed, or where I could paint it back real easy if it gets fucked up.

  • @KAAOS909 if it's acrylic i don't think i will make much of a diffrence just don't take to much on your painted areas.

  • @Hedgetv who the fuck is talking about moms?? Only queers talk about someone elses mom

  • @hedgetv oh yeah im fucking scary!! I bet we all can fuck all yall green anarchists out there

  • @TheUnknown000777 Wow...crazy. That's the same thing yer mom told me while I was shaving her back.

  • @Kenken8765 we fallow the cosa nostra we are an italian and italian american crime family just like the sicillian mafia

  • @TheUnknown000777 Wow...you sound pretty scary. Like a bee or somethin.

  • @TheUnknown000777 Yeh, right.

  • HOW can i get rid of wrinkles from the leather?????

  • is there any other alternative for neatsfoot oil ??? vegetable oil?? coconut oil????

  • @kenken8765 I wouldn't use vegetable oil or something, but there are other leather stuff out there.

  • @HedgeTV your rigth i used vegetable oil and the color on the left sleeve somehow came off well not the whole sleeve but just spots near the stitchings but it did made my leather jacket look new how can is get rid of the wrinkles???

  • @HedgeTV Where can i get a good leather jacket? Like a store? I am moving to Arizona,

  • You fucking QUEER get a fucking life son of a bitch bring it on mother fucker im in the luchese crime family QUEER

  • @TheUnknown000777 oh yeah im a one man crime family. does that crime family follows the la cosa nostra. just asking

  • No Life Til Leather

  • lol wouldent want to use anything that would dry your skin out well i have a dry skin condition so im fucked

  • @UTFRG Nah, it all soaks into the leather, you shouldn't even notice it's there.

  • hey can anyone help me?????!?!!?? i recently tore the lining out of my leather jacket kuz i heard that would make it cooler(so its not as hot) but the inside is all suede feeling & it feels gross. is there something i could do about that?!?!??????

    help please

  • @shredderdude138 uh, I really don't know. That's one of the reasons the liner's in there.

  • @shredderdude138 cut off the sleeves... i ended up making the same mistake but its still pretty sweet as a vest

  • What's the average life span of a leather jacket if you use this technique often in cold parts of the year (1 time in each of these cold seasons in my area: fall, winter, some of spring)? How long will a leather jacket last if you use this technique?

  • @oliver18754 Wow, I don't even know...I've had this one for a long time, an it's holdin up real well, even tho it's got holes in it from diffrent pins an patches over the years.

  • can u make a d.i.y. deniem vest vid?

  • @astrozombiexX I spose I might...I dunno.

  • I got a really nice leather jacket at goodwill for 35 bucks!

Uh it did need a bit of stitches though

  • @penguinator991 yeh, thrift stores are the way to go!

  • @hedgetv

hey man i got a nice leather jacket from my dad it has like 20 years or more but the jacket is as new because he never actually used it so how do i knw what type of leather is it? yea thanks ohh and it's and Arizona Denim jacket or something like that

  • I like to use actual leather cream like Skidmore's. It's got a lot of the nutrients the leather needs to stay in shape and it's not really all that expensive.

  • @JoPissvengance hey, that's good info too, thanx...but Neatsfoot oil is made for leather too.

  • @HedgeTV

Well Skidmore's is made out of bee's wax and natural ingredients while neatsfoot oil is made out of animal product, mainly the hooves of cattle. I figure if you're for the green movement, it may be something to consider in the future.

  • @JoPissvengance Ok, that really is good info. Thanx, I really appreciate it. I'll be honest, I dint even know that.

  • OK why is everyone saying TAKE IT TO A CLEANER!!! Why do that when you can just do this, and spot clean it with some soft hand soap? For one, thats free ( cause chances are you wash your hands) and 2 that oil is SUPER cheap at stores that sell baseball gloves and stuff like Big 5 or Walmart evenIts thedifference between 20-40 bucks, and 4 bucks... Chancesare, taking it to a cleaner will cost more than my jacket so...yeah...

  • hey i got my leather jacket dry cleaned, and is it true that it rips out the color and they repaint it??thats sum fucking bullshit, that means my jacket is not original anymore =(

  • Hey man let me ask you something if you dont mind. I got a leather jacket off of Ebay last week it reeks of some cheap, disgusting guido cologne! The scent makes me sick I'm telling you, sick! How do I get rid of that hideous, stench? Tell me man, come on!

  • Damn, that sucks...I don't even know...except to have it professionally leather cleaned.

  • What do you think of patchwork leather? its just like yours only patch made will a bunch of leather patches sewn together. Will this work or will it work different withh treads and patchs?

  • Yeh, I seen them, those work just fine...altho you might wanna be careful about severing stitches when you punch holes in it, I dunno.

  • do what the care label says on the inside common sense that's why it's there. would you put diesel fuel in your car or truck that clearly labeled unleaded gasoline only?? NO ! You can clean leather using mild dish soap and water ONLY on small stains never do this to a suede!

  • This vid isn't about cleaning, an it is about doing it yerself.

  • only cost 25-40 dollars to get it leather cleaned dude!!!!! The cleaning solvent puts the oils back in the coat and after cleaning the jacket gets resprayed with dye in a spray room kinda like a paint room at a auto body shop.Go to a dry cleaners or tailer/seamtress that offers this service and get a price quote first.Chances are the dry cleaners down the road uses the same leather company to do there work and there can be a 10-20 dollar difference in price so shop around

  • Yeh, I'll drop it off next time I take my fuckin BDUs to the dry-cleaner. What a doofus.

  • @HedgeTV excuse me if your gonna pay 100-300 bucks on leather jacket and can't afford a simple trip 20-40 bucks to get it cleaned to get it then who's a doofus?????????????

  • Hmmm, let's see. Pay someone 40 bucks to do it, or do it myself for 4. Yes, that IS a tough one. Anyway, like I said, this vid AIN'T about cleanin leather. And this oil ain't a home remedy...it's made for this.

  • @1978mtb dont pay 100-300 bux then for a leather jacket dumbass :P

  • @HedgeTV I've cleaned peoples home remedy mistakes for years water spots, kerosene, gasoline, hell even hair spray, You can use water and mild dish soap on small spots but on some leather the finish will come right off ever heard of dye transfer or glue bleed ??

  • How do you keep a jacket smelling good and do you know any really badass jackets to buy?

  • Nice spikes

I got my 1st Leather Jacket and want to like put like band badges and other stuff on it

  • Dude, you got spikes on your jacket?...

  • Yeh.

  • question, do you ever use black shoe polish (kiwi wax) to darken the color of your leather jacket. if not are there any other solutions?.

  • is that nappa leather?

  • i like your union bay hoodie

  • ???

  • would you have to do the same thing to a faux leather jacket? (fake leather)

  • Hey Hedge, your videos rock.

Funny how you suggested an old sock, thats what I use for about everything lol

But I wanted to know if you have any paint on your jacket and if so, is it safe to use that oil stuff on the painted parts?

because my jacket is so dry it feels like a frickin briefcase! but I don't want to risk my paint coming off,... anyway I'mma stop talking now, but hope to get a reply soon.

  • Nah, I don't got any paint on it, so I can't be sure...do like the corny warning lable, an test a small part first.

  • You need to be careful with treating the leather.

Some of the leather jackets you buy are treated with silicon and some of the completely natural.

Just make sure you know what your working with...

    otherwise good video...

  • I watched my first video by you today, and i'm already addicted to them. I keep watching them over and over again...

    Subbed.

  • how much did the jacket cost you?

  • Great video, thanks man! and lovely jacket ay

  • where'd you buy your leather?

  • I got it at an Army/Navy store.

  • you get blood on your jacket

  • I've got an old leather jacket and It's worn out, but I'm going for the UK82 look anway...

but when the arms get dried out and I can't move them, I use that baby oil stuff or whatever it is...

  • What about if I have another cloth? Like an old military jacket into my new jacket. How would i clean that if it were to have pins/patches on it?

  • If it's a cloth, wash it, maybe by hand. Pins should be removed first, but patches will be fine.

  • what about the studs? what if i machine washed it?

  • Nah, I got pants with studs, an they're fine.

  • Like, I was burning some trees in my classic biker/punk jacket (Genuine leather, of course)...

And I kinda got some of that stuff... that goo you use to glue shingles to the roof?

And since then, there are some small white spots on my jacket, but I smeared the jacket over with that leather care stuff you can also put on boots, and the spots seem to have washed off a bit. But, what do I do in the future to prevent this type of shit?

  • Um, maybe wear somethin diffrent when yer workin with messy stuff...otherwize you'll jus have to clean it off.

  • I know, but it was a special occasion. We were supposed to meet some girls, but it turned out into a simple vandalism trip.

  • I JUST GOT MY LEATHER JACKET AND I LIVE IN ENGLAND SO YOU CAN TELL WHAT WEATHER I GET SO CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THE HEEL IS NEATSFOOT OIL and i really need to stop writing in caps

  • Neatsfoot oil conditions an softens the leather, but makes it more waterproof.

  • I have a question related to paint.

Will neatsfoot oil take paint off?

That's quite frankly the only question that common sense doesn't cover.

  • Yeh, an that part I don't know. I'll try to test it, an get back with everybody.

  • how would you SAFELY take paint off? ive heard isopryl alcohol dries it out, i want to avoid any mandatory restoration such as re-moisturizing or something.

    thanks!

  • Honestly, I don't really know...that's why I haven't painted this jacket.

  • thanks for the reply anyway, keep making the kick ass vids!

  • So, I just got a leather jacket. It's not the one I wanted (I wanted a bikers leather jacket) but oh well, I like it. I went to Wilsons leather to look for a new jacket, and found a nice one for $70, then they had extra 20% off, so it came out to be $60 in the end. Pretty good considering the price tag for the department store that sells it was $150.

  • what kind of oil should I buy for my dad's leather boots

  • Same...Neatsfoot oil.

  • I asked him he said he has some oil already...think of a new Idea...

  • Umm, but that should work fine, then.

  • yo i wonder if that would take the paint outta my jacket hmmmm

  • Yeh, I'm gonna have to test that.

  • Good stuff, Winter is coming up so i will do this.

  • Yeh, good idea.

  • 5 stars dude. why r u so random!?

  • I have a short attention span.

  • poor cows

  • save cows

  • Haa!

  • hahahaha nice eyes

  • Oh, thanx.

  • how do i keep from damaging the stuff painted on my jacket if i needa clean it

  • Aw man, people keep askin that! I'm not sure if neatsfoot oil will damage yer paint! Be real careful with it...maybe test it first on a little part you can easily repaint if you got to.

  • ...and whats the song at the very end with the chicken puking. :)

  • "So What" by CRASS.

  • can you do the same thing you did to the jacket if you have paint on it some of it?

  • I dunno if the oil will damage yer paint or not...might wanna try it out on a scrap piece first or somethin.

  • how do you get a cum stain out of a leather jacket?

  • Really shouldn't soak in, I spose jus spot wash it off with mild soap...it'd work better if you don't let it dry.

  • I gotta get my cum stain out of my dads leather blazer before he gets back. I had one too man at the go-go and shot my load all over it!

  • Okay, see thas what's known as TMI.

  • Jackets take too much money.

    I have a hoodie that I've had since 98.

If it wasn't for saftey pins It would fall apart.

  • Thas why if you got a leather jacket, you wanna take good care of it.

  • Id hate to see it. Just get a good leather jacket and take care of it dude. At least be stylish about it.

  • AWESOME!!! Thanks for the SUPPORT and the very good detailed info on how to clean my leather! Your the BEST MAN!!

  • Cool, thanx for watchin!

  • I never oil mine but I should start doing so. Bought my leather jacket in June/2004.

  • It's probly pretty thirsty.

  • oh and whats the name of the song in the beginning, I feel like I've heard it before.

  • "Who Cares" by Amsterdam Ave.

  • I've already water proofed my jacket. But can you put that stuff on if you have painted the back of your jacket?

  • Come to think of it, it is oil...so it might not be good for paint...I'd do the old, tried an true "test on an inconspicuous area" first!
