This makes kidney disease and dialysis seem like something you WANT to have ... I'm not even going to watch the vid all the way thru. Obviously these people are getting paid to be "positive". Cuz, you know what? I've been in acute kidney failure since July. I was on dialysis from July until September, when my kidney function began to improve. But it's going bad again and I'm going to have to restart dialysis. And it SUCKS. I HATE MY LIFE!!!!! This video is a complete LIE!!!!
@Kiyema Well, BOO HOO for you! I've been on Dialysis for a year now. I'm 15 years old and I live my life to damn fullest. You can't let this little road block get in the way of your happiness. Most of the time, sure, I don't enjoy having the cramps, the headaches, and the waiting, but all in all, I express the pain through joy of life.
Dialysis is a great thing and so is Living Organ Donation... I just donated my kidney 2 weeks ago and was amazed on how simple it really is. of coarse there is some pain but shockingly minimal and have yet to take any pain meds. If anyone would like to find out more about Living Organ Donation please feel free to message me, or hop on Face Book and look up Give Life Donate Chicago. I would love to help anyone considering donation! God Bless
this is a great video to watch...i will soon undergo dialysis here in the philippines im afraid to have the treatment but when i saw this video it changed my perception with people who are on dialysis treatment. im 25 and hoping someday i will be able to have a transplant..
Mayra Martinez is not only a Mariachi Diva to me,,,,but my comadre,,,dearest friend and sister in life. She is the strongest person I have ever known and has more love for life than most! You would never know she was in dialysis because she never complains or gets down on life due to her illness...she is absolutely amazing and I want to thank you for celebrating Mayra here in this video because she is proof that life is not over after dialysis. I love you mi amiga!!! Cindy Shea-Mariachi Divas
@pkpp lol.. everyone who has been on dialysis are either DEAD or NEEDS A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT its not the high B/P or diabetes that cause kidney failure its the pharmaceutical product that patients has been taking over the yrs thats causing kidney complication which is shown through labwork(blood draw) the kidney has lost its ability to filter pharmaceutical drugs your nephron nerves are weaken due to inflamation at the intracelluar level in your body
@marvonn09 Your entire statement is completely wrong. High blood pressure is one of the main causes of CkD, as well as Diabetes. Medicines have no effect on your kidneys unless you have CkD and the medicine is advised against using while having CkD.
i just also want to share my own story.... i am also a dialysis patient for 3 years and 8 months now.... i was 18 years old when i had my first dialysis. i was on my 3rd year college then and it was finals week for the 1st semester. Actually, because of dialysis, i have finished my study. I just graduated last April with a course of electronics and communications engineering. as of now, i am a call center agent or a market researcher at opinionology here in the Philippines for more than 3 moS
I am a dialysis patient too - since 2007. Great video. Alex: change centers and speak to the centers' manager. Keep going higher until someone hears you and addresses the concerns.
I appreciate this video and I am getting through the fear treatment by treatment. The techs and nurses at my dialysis center are great and understanding people. God bless all because God is gonna bless me with a kidney.
I had been on dialysis for six years before I received a new kidney. I had been concerned about the decision to receive dialysis treatment but I began to feel so much better, and did not get so sick as I was before. One way to avoid getting sick during treatment is to realize how much fluid is being drawn off during treatment and watching how much fluid you are putting on by paying attention to your eating habits.
tell it to my Dad whos on dialysis but gets insanely sick everytime he gets on the machine, and when he tries to get help from the staff they are rude and dont want to work with him to find the problem
