can phoenix please trade nash to a contender or even give him to a contender i want him to get a ring and hes not gonna get one with the pieces in phoenix atm
@rohitsroya25 not really.. nash is a pg and needs the ball to contribute.. wade and james are more like ball handlers.. putting nash with them is like putting jason kidd with AI in his prime.. but if he does take the job, he'll b a catch and shoot player... not really the nash that we wanna see :(
I would have left Phoenix as well. There roster was weak apart from Nash and Stoudemire, they were never going to win a championship in Knicks Stoudemire has a lot better chance.
Steve Nash is the greatest PG to play the game! Especially at his age, he's only getting better. At this age, Magic Johnson was busy opening up a Starbucks.
But BEST playmaker easily. This is the PG you need with a good SG & PF. If you had him driving and Bosh cutting or him & Wade on fast breaks open court. It would be OVER. F*** James. I would trade him for Nash & Carter.
nash shuld take his talents to NY he wuld be a great back up for cp3 and melo and amare getting those passes plus with him at piont plays just magically happen imagine steve nash cp3 melo amare and ronnny turiaf in the game at the same time at one piont knicks shold try to deal billups or wait n sign him n cp3 there team wuld be to stacked thumbs up if u agree
I wouldnt go as far to say he is the best pg of all time but he's defintely top 5 and a arguable/debatable top 3. Magic, Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Gary Payton, Isiah, the Big-O(no particular order), and some other good ones noone really knows are Kevin Johnson and Mark Jackson, They were good too. so yea nash is great but he's top 3 not the greatest of all time.
@TheReeeeeech Yeah and? Thats because he takes so many shots, especially considering he's a pg! if you look at his shot percentage to what he shoots to what he makes you'll see it sucks ass :-)
@TheMajin7 nash rose and rondo wouldn't be a good team. they're all point guards, so they would have to be played in positions that they're not used to.
anybody else other than just @gsingh96 personally tried out the nba workout system for getting better as a basketball player? Even Lebron James had in the past made use of this course. I highly recommend this, - here's what you've been waiting for (50-inch-vertical(dot)com)
@TheFlippinproduction What has he done to deserve any defensive recognition. Hes almost always top 5 in turnovvers. He has never shot 55% from the field for a season. The best was 53% for 1 year but this year he has 50%. Just because some people say "Best pg ever" or "best shooter" doesnt make it true. Best PG easily is Magic by far. And best pure shooter is Ray Allen still. He has been on many very talented teams. And he might not make playoffs this year.
@TheFlippinproduction Steve Nashs FG percentages are at 49% for his career. The best was Artis Gilmoure are 59.9% down to the 30th who is Dale Davis at 53% Nash is not even close to being the best FG percentage. Not even as an active player. Ray Allen is the best because he's the all time leading 3 point shot, and not only can be a spot up shooter but can create his own shots back there.
@manimaduck Just because Ray Allen has the most threes doesnt mean anything, steve nash is the best at free throws,,whats the big difference?Steve Nash is in the top 10 all time in threes.
@TheFlippinproduction The difference is quantity. Has 1000 more 3s made then Nash. Had Nash shot as much as Allen then there is no way he'd have as good of a %. Steve has always had the benefit of not being the go to guy on the team. Allen was that guy for a long time. It's not as hard to lead the league in FT% if you only shoot 3 per game. Like I said before, Nash isnt a guy that creates his own shots. He is not a dependable guy if you need a game winning shot with a hand in the face
@manimaduck u give reasons on why ray allen is a better PG then steve nash because of his scoring ability when the role of a PG isnt to score as much as it is to run the offense and to find the open man and get the ball to the person with a great scoring chance. nash has about 5000 more assists then ray allen in his career. if u look at the roles of PG, nash > ray allen. if he doesnt make his own shots, he sets up others and thats what makes him the better PG
@Skaliiwaggs No I didnt say Ray Allen was a better PG. He doesnt even play PG, he plays SG. I said he was a better shooter. I said Magic was a better PG. You should either A) read what I say, or B) Watch basketball to know that Ray Allen isnt PG, its Rajon Rondo right now for the Celtics. Either way, my top 3 PGs of all time dont include Nash and seeing that he is at the end of his career, he will probably never make it.
@manimaduck good u said wat i wanted u to RAY ALLEN ISNT A PG so why the hell are u u comparing a SG to a PG? SG is meant to be the scorer and a shooter. PG is meant to be a passer so saying Allen is the better shooter over nash is just retarded. If he wasnt then he wouldnt be doing his job right.
@Skaliiwaggs You just jumped into the argument out of nowhere. The original post said "he has been called the best shooter ever over Ray Allen." by TheFlippinProduction. Either read the whole argument, or dont jump in. Like I said Magic is the best PG hands down.
@manimaduck yes maybe magic is better/best most people on here like me are just fans of nash cuz of what he does. And i did read previous posts but i dont get why u guys are arguing over the best shooter. even nash himself wouldnt say hes better then allen im sure. And he shouldnt be hes a PG not meant to be the big time scorer. Every player has their style and way they are better and i think nash and magic both had their thing that made them different. nash's is his passing skill
@Skaliiwaggs He said he was better than Ray Allen first. I dont care if you like the guy. Hes a great guy and fun to watch. I just dont like when people exaggerate just because its their favorite player. A lot of people on here say Nash is the best PG ever. I'm not sure if he would make my top 5 of all time.
@manimaduck ya just dont worry about people. Phoenix is my fav team and nash is my fav player but i know hes not the best but there are things that he is great at. He has a decent shot but as a PG, a SG such as ray allen would outshoot him any day because its his role and area to be good at. Nash has a great passing skill as his role. He may not be in the best 5 when it comes to stats but he is unique regardless and thats why hes my fav.
@Skaliiwaggs Ya Nash is really fun to watch and he makes ridiculous plays, if he ever would have had a decent defensive game then he wouldnt have gotten burned by the PGs in the West because Parker, Williams, Paul and those guys can pick him apart. But Nash does a great job running an offense
@manimaduck ya thats wat i like about him. he tends to do a great job of that and seems to find the open guy or set up his teammate's shots. i just wish he could get a championship before he leaves for the stuff he has done as a player
@manimaduck I disagree.Steve Nash has been used to win a game many times before.But.he is not used much now,but you know why?He sets up the game winner. He's a natural born playmaker,he just so happens to be amazing at shooting also.Steve Nash is starting to shoot more,I know he doesn't shoot muchbut the shots he takes,he makes.Thirty-nine percent for three pointers is pretty good.Fifty percent FG% is very good.He hasn't been 100% in health this season,he is recovering from pelvic inflamation.
@TheFlippinproduction I read on ESPN recently that the suns hit their first game winner since 2006...Thats 5 years man...Nash doesnt hit game winners...hes not a closer like other SG...hes not necessarily supposed to be...I would trust the ball in Allen's hands more at the end of a game than Nashs any day. A lot of NBA players arent 100% healthy for small injuries and a bunch of reasons...Im not knocking Nash, I just think Allen is better, but Nash is a tremendous shooter
you do understand shooting 50%+ for a guard is considered amazing right? Like really amazing
All those guys you named got all there shots off from dunks, and lay-ups. Nash doesn't dunk and he doesn't do lay-ups (its some weird pushshot or scoop)
Why is Magic the best PG because he was taller than his opponents and played with hall of famers his whole life? Guy didn't have a jump shot
Also Steve Nash has been in the 40/50/90 club 6 times in a row, thats pure shooting right there
@Saferwaters13 If 50% is amazing by a guard then Nash's career is under amazing at 49% and yes 1% is a pretty big difference. Magic on the other hand has a 52% career. But what makes Magic the greatest is he is the all time leader in APG. 3 Time MVP. 5 Time Champion. Played in 8 Championships. Yes he did play with hall of famers, but he still led his team to a championship without Kareem and with 2 injured starters. Possibly could have won if they were healthy.
@Saferwaters13 Nash doesnt shoot as much as most stars, which is why he has a good shooting percentage. That isnt bad, but he doesnt create his own shots like most all star guards. If nash tried averaging 25 a game then he definitely wouldnt have those stats. BTW people who consider height in basketball as a reason for greatness are dumb. Shawn Bradley 7'6" and sucked. Mugsy Bogues 5'3" and was solid for his size. And Magic has better stats than Nash in everything besides 3% and FT%
For Size theres exception but its usually a golden rule. Tell me this...
In 2000 would you take Allen Iverson (so much skill) or Shaq (little skill but very dominant)?
Most people would say Shaq since hes basically unstoppable. Why is he unstoppable? Cause hes 7'1 350 lbs.
ALSO Magic is a great player but his stats are a bit inflated cause of his teammates. If he was on the Sonics or Warriors his stats wouldn't be as great. Maybe 2000-3000 less assists
@Saferwaters13 Maybe I'm wrong but Magic played with 2 Hall of Famers and Nash played with 2 probable Nowitzki and Stoudemire (Not counting Kidd.)
You can use Shaq vs AI, but lets use Shaq vs MJ then...Who would you take? You sacrifice speed for size usually. If Magic wouldnt have had the teammates then maybe he gets less assists. I doubt by 2000-3000 but maybe less, and he would replace that by averaging more points. And Without Kareem he would average more rebounds too.
@Saferwaters13 Oh BTW again you are off on your stats. Nash has been on it 4 times and very close to 5 times, still just 4 times. It's still a great feat, but not what you claimed. Why do you say Nash is better than Magic anyways? Because he hasn't won or even made it to the Finals? Because he has less MVPs ? Because he less all star appearances? Because he has less All-NBA First team appearances? Because Nash's 3 highest SPG seasons is less than Magics highest even though Magic is taller?
@prtynacan Should of been 3 time, but they dont even talk about him anymore. They only talk about All the others and Jason Kidd.Steve Nash is better than every PG in the league except for Derrrick Rose, idc what anyone says.
Some people consider Nash better shooter than Allen, because he has been 4 times in the 50-40-90 club and Allen has never been. Check on NBA or Wikipedia for 50-40-90 club (FG%, 3P%, FT%)
also Nash Career stats FG% .489 3P% .429 FT% .904 Allen Career stats FG% .452 3P% .399 FT% .893

I hate how Steve Nash and his defense is so underrated.
APG:11.4
PPG:16.0
Age:37
He is the best free throw shooter ever.
He has been called the best shooter ever over Ray Allen.
He shoots like 55% from the field and that is the best in NBA history.
Many call him the best PG in NBA history.
Keep in mind his not very good team, that he keeps decent every single year.
And the NBA named the best best passer.

You should either A) read what I say, or B) Watch basketball to know that Ray Allen isnt PG, its Rajon Rondo right now for the Celtics. Either way, my top 3 PGs of all time dont include Nash and seeing that he is at the end of his career, he will probably never make it.
manimaduck 11 months ago
@manimaduck good u said wat i wanted u to RAY ALLEN ISNT A PG so why the hell are u u comparing a SG to a PG? SG is meant to be the scorer and a shooter. PG is meant to be a passer so saying Allen is the better shooter over nash is just retarded. If he wasnt then he wouldnt be doing his job right.
Skaliiwaggs 11 months ago
@Skaliiwaggs You just jumped into the argument out of nowhere. The original post said "he has been called the best shooter ever over Ray Allen." by TheFlippinProduction. Either read the whole argument, or dont jump in. Like I said Magic is the best PG hands down.
manimaduck 11 months ago
@manimaduck yes maybe magic is better/best most people on here like me are just fans of nash cuz of what he does. And i did read previous posts but i dont get why u guys are arguing over the best shooter. even nash himself wouldnt say hes better then allen im sure. And he shouldnt be hes a PG not meant to be the big time scorer. Every player has their style and way they are better and i think nash and magic both had their thing that made them different. nash's is his passing skill
Skaliiwaggs 11 months ago
@Skaliiwaggs He said he was better than Ray Allen first. I dont care if you like the guy. Hes a great guy and fun to watch. I just dont like when people exaggerate just because its their favorite player. A lot of people on here say Nash is the best PG ever. I'm not sure if he would make my top 5 of all time.
manimaduck 11 months ago
@manimaduck ya just dont worry about people. Phoenix is my fav team and nash is my fav player but i know hes not the best but there are things that he is great at. He has a decent shot but as a PG, a SG such as ray allen would outshoot him any day because its his role and area to be good at. Nash has a great passing skill as his role. He may not be in the best 5 when it comes to stats but he is unique regardless and thats why hes my fav.
Skaliiwaggs 11 months ago
@Skaliiwaggs Ya Nash is really fun to watch and he makes ridiculous plays, if he ever would have had a decent defensive game then he wouldnt have gotten burned by the PGs in the West because Parker, Williams, Paul and those guys can pick him apart. But Nash does a great job running an offense
manimaduck 11 months ago
@manimaduck ya thats wat i like about him. he tends to do a great job of that and seems to find the open guy or set up his teammate's shots. i just wish he could get a championship before he leaves for the stuff he has done as a player
Skaliiwaggs 11 months ago
@manimaduck I disagree.Steve Nash has been used to win a game many times before.But.he is not used much now,but you know why?He sets up the game winner. He's a natural born playmaker,he just so happens to be amazing at shooting also.Steve Nash is starting to shoot more,I know he doesn't shoot muchbut the shots he takes,he makes.Thirty-nine percent for three pointers is pretty good.Fifty percent FG% is very good.He hasn't been 100% in health this season,he is recovering from pelvic inflamation.
TheFlippinproduction 11 months ago
@TheFlippinproduction I read on ESPN recently that the suns hit their first game winner since 2006...Thats 5 years man...Nash doesnt hit game winners...hes not a closer like other SG...hes not necessarily supposed to be...I would trust the ball in Allen's hands more at the end of a game than Nashs any day. A lot of NBA players arent 100% healthy for small injuries and a bunch of reasons...Im not knocking Nash, I just think Allen is better, but Nash is a tremendous shooter
manimaduck 11 months ago
@manimaduck LOL
you do understand shooting 50%+ for a guard is considered amazing right? Like really amazing
All those guys you named got all there shots off from dunks, and lay-ups. Nash doesn't dunk and he doesn't do lay-ups (its some weird pushshot or scoop)
Why is Magic the best PG because he was taller than his opponents and played with hall of famers his whole life? Guy didn't have a jump shot
Also Steve Nash has been in the 40/50/90 club 6 times in a row, thats pure shooting right there
Saferwaters13 11 months ago
@Saferwaters13 If 50% is amazing by a guard then Nash's career is under amazing at 49% and yes 1% is a pretty big difference. Magic on the other hand has a 52% career. But what makes Magic the greatest is he is the all time leader in APG. 3 Time MVP. 5 Time Champion. Played in 8 Championships. Yes he did play with hall of famers, but he still led his team to a championship without Kareem and with 2 injured starters. Possibly could have won if they were healthy.
manimaduck 11 months ago
@Saferwaters13 Nash doesnt shoot as much as most stars, which is why he has a good shooting percentage. That isnt bad, but he doesnt create his own shots like most all star guards. If nash tried averaging 25 a game then he definitely wouldnt have those stats. BTW people who consider height in basketball as a reason for greatness are dumb. Shawn Bradley 7'6" and sucked. Mugsy Bogues 5'3" and was solid for his size. And Magic has better stats than Nash in everything besides 3% and FT%
manimaduck 11 months ago
@manimaduck
Saferwaters13 11 months ago
@Saferwaters13 Maybe I'm wrong but Magic played with 2 Hall of Famers and Nash played with 2 probable Nowitzki and Stoudemire (Not counting Kidd.)
You can use Shaq vs AI, but lets use Shaq vs MJ then...Who would you take? You sacrifice speed for size usually. If Magic wouldnt have had the teammates then maybe he gets less assists. I doubt by 2000-3000 but maybe less, and he would replace that by averaging more points. And Without Kareem he would average more rebounds too.
manimaduck 11 months ago
@Saferwaters13 Oh BTW again you are off on your stats. Nash has been on it 4 times and very close to 5 times, still just 4 times. It's still a great feat, but not what you claimed. Why do you say Nash is better than Magic anyways? Because he hasn't won or even made it to the Finals? Because he has less MVPs ? Because he less all star appearances? Because he has less All-NBA First team appearances? Because Nash's 3 highest SPG seasons is less than Magics highest even though Magic is taller?
manimaduck 11 months ago
@TheFlippinproduction he isnt even black. from america. and he originally played soccer and hockey!
lvrpatriot01 9 months ago
@TheFlippinproduction 55% is not the highest in nba history. Kareem shoot over 70% his last year
austenwhitcher1 9 months ago
@austenwhitcher1 I'm talking about Guards.
TheFlippinproduction 9 months ago
@TheFlippinproduction Isn't he a 2 time MVP? Doesn't seem underrated to me
prtynacan 9 months ago
@prtynacan Should of been 3 time, but they dont even talk about him anymore. They only talk about All the others and Jason Kidd.Steve Nash is better than every PG in the league except for Derrrick Rose, idc what anyone says.
TheFlippinproduction 9 months ago
@TheFlippinproduction
No, no, from Ray Allen is definitely not better (when it comes to throwing)

Some people consider Nash better shooter than Allen, because he has been 4 times in the 50-40-90 club and Allen has never been. Check on NBA or Wikipedia for 50-40-90 club (FG%, 3P%, FT%)
also Nash Career stats FG% .489 3P% .429 FT% .904 Allen Career stats FG% .452 3P% .399 FT% .893
