  • potatoes have skin.

    i have skin.

therefore i must be a potato.

  • Probably the album of the decade...

  • Awesome song!!

  • Why isnt there a dubstep version of this song.

  • @Detenators cause dub step sucks !!!!!

  • @Detenators Because dubstep is a horrible excuse for calling yourself a musician.

  • love this song <3

  • never thought I'd see the day that this was boring. wow this is boring. I think the lips flamed out, bjork style. Snore.

  • @Aclarado Fuck you, this is a beautiful song.

  • Needs more bass.

  • What are the chords for the end instumental??

  • one more robot.......

  • first minute is sick...1:10 dies off a bit :(

  • Its so funny watching people try and interpret the meaning of these songs. do you not understand that he was simply high?

  • Comment removed

  • @HyperSleepy Disregard my last comment, that was stupid. But Wayne has mentioned in a few interviews that he doesn't like tripping out, but he has tried a lot of them. He was on a lot of meds for an injury though, idk if he's still taking them. A lot of people interpret a couple tracks on Yoshimi as a concept, so it kinda makes sense why people try to decipher the lyrics.

  • @HyperSleepy Being "high", is almost never simple. especially if you do it right.

  • @HyperSleepy you really can't see the narrative of the lyrics? this theme has been covered many times in science fiction novels and movies. "Blade Runner", "I Robot" hell, even "terminator" Try putting more thought into it.

  • Never has there been a better song. Never

  • it's about a robot gaining a conscience and feeling emotion for the first time.

  • No, this song is clearly about thw writers inability to cooperate or understand our soicety. He feels that he is a 'robot' and thus is alienated from our society, but he soon finds the other outcasts of society, the other 'robots'. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Maybe it's just an a amazing song. Which it is.

  • @TealVan what do you mean clearly? isnt this art? and as art we have the right to interpet it our own way

  • I have a theory that this song is about a vibrator.

  • @likearollingstone257 I get it now "One more robot learns to feel, something more than a machine." Good on ya! haha

  • @PrplhaZe Right? I'm telling you just read the lyrics. It's clear as day that this song is about one of those.

  • @likearollingstone257 LMAO!!! I really like this song, but your theory is funny as hell.

  • @likearollingstone257 why did you have to say that? You ruined the song for me D: lol now that's all I can think about

  • great music!

  • ONE person is a robot that doesn't know how to feel

  • @Moustakas42 one "person" is a robot ,what?

  • @vveq Actually, milk or other creamy liquids are much more effective when dealing with extreme spiciness. Water will only exacerbate the situation. The more you know!

  • I love that genius music like this never makes the main stream, because the simple fact is that most people just don't understand what true creativity is, they simply follow bad trends. This is magic, I love it.

  • @proylea1 I DONT LOVE THAT!!! I WISH THIS WAS IN THE MAINSTREAM!

  • @crookedmelody1 no man. just keep it like this cause if it becomes mainstream the song will die like all other mainstream songs do :(

  • @crookedmelody1 I know what you mean, it is almost shameful that this is not incredibly popular music, I guess what I was reflecting on was the fact that these guys have maintained their art regardless of popular appeal, it's just great that there are people who see it's beauty.

  • @proylea1 amen to that lol am just getting into flaming lips but from what i can tell there awsome

  • @proylea1 Hell no. The creative artists should be the popular artists.

  • @LiNaK37 Yeh, of course they should, that's what I said, unfortunately the majority of the population do not have enough knowledge of music to recognize the pure art these guys produce, that's why we have main stream music, the writers have had to conform to popular models of song writing in order to sell records, flaming lips choose to do what they love whether it's popular in the main stream or not. It's popular enough for them to keep doing it, lucky for us.

  • anyone got a bass tab?

  • @vveq Try a Jalepeno with chapped lips on the fourth of July,... You'll def. see Fireworks!

  • if this song was a woman i'd plow her

  • thank you for posting the whole album

  • This song should play during the credits of "Blade Runner"

  • This my favorite song on this album. pure crack!!

  • Damn, Steve Drozd is a great composer.

  • gracias por conocerte, siempre me acuerdo de tí con esta canción...

  • Love it, never gets old, always surprises me with excellence.

  • for some reason this reminds me of the besnard lakes. no one knows what that is probably....

  • reminds me of Gorillaz...just this song

  • @fireyexplosions yeah it does. a lot of their stuff is a mix between mgmt and maybe some as tall as lions. its very good though.

  • @coughfilmsco

Uhh. MGMT came after. The lips influenced them and many others. The lips pioneered this style of music. Coyne is a genius, and the lips fucking owwn any of the more recent bands like them.

  • @lepordgek i realize that theyre older, but im just comparing the two...

  • @lepordgek

    What's this style of music?

  • just butting in here, this is psychadelic / experimental rock.

  • amazing damn song

  • best flaming lips song to me.

  • I had a dream for like a couple of seconds once... There was this giant robot M, like the transports in Tron. Only, this one was unknowably big -and in the middle of drop dead space. It was stuck in a river of orgone, and behind it -all these other M-Bots were trying to pull it back out. The two things that stuck out the most about it, was the loud EEEEE sound that deafoned everything -and the red spot in the center of the stuck M. It was growing like a heart.

  • @colingartz quite possibly....would make a great movie either way

  • @Tifftoe7 It's called the Matrix.

  • @asphyxxx Yeah, I don't mean machines that use us as their energy source in that way, I'm quite familiar of the Matrix and its storyline. Thanks anyway!

  • The ending... ahhh I love it

  • wonderful song, great album!!!

  • Me and a few friends took mushrooms, and listened to this album. Mind = Blown still

  • Maybe we were the robots once.

  • oh, keep quiet! I've got to think. (The outer door slams again.) Your mother always used to give me poached eggs on toast at times like this. Well-I'm only fourteen.

  • Well I tell you what....naaaww I fucking wit cha!

  • Of course this song is badass!! THIS band rules period!!

  • This is such a beautiful song; the first time I heard it, it really struck an emotional chord with me. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this song.

  • @frazzles236 Totally agree with that, that bass line is fucking epic

  • whole album massif and one chune. I think that's why. but you gotta say. big ups.

  • people who drag their own stupid accents into their typing are just as bad as those who say "lol" in real life.

  • Language is made by those using it. Not besserwissers.
