  • Only thing I can think of is that the inside of the tires was weighted at the top. Might be a possibility, and a misleading one at that.

  • BS!

There's not enough force to drive three tires uphill at that degree of inclination unless there's some additional force to drive them....

    From 0:24 to 0:32.

And at 0:29, the second wheel on the ramp moves 'UP' a little bit more after hitting the next wheel......Which is physically impossible for a free moving body.

    Somehow, I'm not Buying this...

  • @safi532 They're special tyres that drawn to the top of the plank. All they need is a little nudge --- and woof, of they go! :)

  • woah!

  • pause it at 1:09 and look at the window.

  • how does the window go through the wooden plank when that cylinder was rolling through on it then?

  • @99stairwaytoheavan99 gap in the plank..?

  • Ohps... the video camera wasn't on.... lets set it all back up!

  • feel asleep what happend cool tho

  • how did those wheels go UP the ramp? 0:24

  • @astonishability thats exactly what my first thought was, several of the things seemed unrealistic

  • cool

  • Somebody had a lot of fun..... that is creative indeed!

  • boring

  • So their tyres defy gravity?

  • they probably hired a bunch of phycisists here

  • fake

  • Interesting ad...physics in action!

  • awesome

  • I thought that is how Dodge made their transmissions.

  • I saw the making of this video, and it's real, people. They had to retake this for unbelievably many times

  • @MegaMiquelon :wait....are u suggesting that this wasnt 3d?

  • @hashpuppy101 Yes. I used to take video for my major in school and my teacher showed us many of 'the making of'. One of them was this one...

  • CHAIN REACTION. EPIC.

  • cool!

  • Amusing(;

  • I love the advertisement! It is absolutely interesting and captivating. Still, I do not believe that it has no graphics. To much shine in the objects, to much of the same bacground (no windows, no doors, in other words, to uniform). It just does not look natural...

  • I can't believe all these people with their ignorant questions...It's a freakin' commercial! just try enjoying it! No wonder mankind is killing it's self off, obviously we are too stupid too live! Good riddance

  • See,Now THAT is what ALL commercials should be like! Interesting, cool, thought provoking,etc...NOT annoying and loud and obnoxious! Advertisers take notice!

  • Awesome !! :)

  • nice...

  • Wonderful

  • this reminds me of OKGO music video too...

  • 1:50 NO Thats why i have a pc!

  • Why can't someone just get up and close the trunk door. Why all this effort? The guy/guys who made this must be knowing a thing or two about patience :D

  • wowww more than 5 stars

  • How is the tire going up hill by that little push?

  • Go through all that trouble to close my trunk door? Screw That Im buying a Nissan!

  • awesome ad!!

  • lol...fuck**** jerks...they call this advertisement?..

  • pathetic..... they r fooling around with laws of motions......stupid advertisement...how come honda has approved it....

  • i like to see the camra guy run out of film half way

  • Well everyone here is analyzing and criticizing....I for one think this is visually stimulating and made me concentrate for 2 minutes!!!

  • The tires are fine people -.-

The only suspicious part for me is the flask, it shouldn't roll quite that far in my opinion :/

Though I guess thats probably where a nice bunch of the '606 takes' came from.

  • to much imagination

  • I usually hate car commercials but this is awesomr

  • ...the commercial is fine, what concerns me is the claim that it cost 6.2 million dollars to make - isn't there something better that could be done with 6.2million? Honda - feel free to make a cheaper commercial and send the surplus to me if you're scratching your heads about what to do with it :) ...

  • this is not real you dumbfucks, at 0:24 you can see the magic of video manipulation :D although its quite good commercial :D

  • @dushan94 the wheele is weighted like noderailer said, idiot

  • @dushan94 The tires are weighted, "dumbfuck". No tricks, just gravity working the way it does.

  • Those tires rolled up

and the muffler rolled too long

  • I always thought this was an Audi commercial...

  • What year was this from???

  • OMG AWESOME video...You have to have precise precision to put something like this together. (Which I am not) LOL :)

  • i heard it took them 6 months to arrange stuff to create this advertisement!!!...now wonder its the world's best!

  • this is completely rediculus....

  • @mrs1piano4me how is this completely ridiculous? its actually pretty amazing when you think about it

  • @bcrich1689 well unforunately, it doesn't have that effect on me...

  • @mrs1piano4me oh hmm o well...cant please everybody in the world :)

  • Took a LONG time to set that one up. Great engineering

  • @721787 if you tap the wheel at this point the weighted side will fall, pulling the wheel up the hill you can read the best rated comment by #noderailer

  • wo that was cool i have acually seen a room that long it was a dubble wide traler it was cool

  • k now dat waz cool

  • this could give mythbustesr a run for their money :)

  • awsome

  • I remember when this first came up

  • They're on a belt. The wheels are on a belt, works like a conveyor.

  • nice =)

  • As for the tires from an article on this ad: "The sequence where the tires roll up a slope looks particularly impressive but is very simple. Steiner says that there is a weight [in each] tire and when the tire is knocked, the weight is displaced and in an attempt to rebalance itself, the tire rolls up the slope."

    Look it up on snopes.

  • they bounce

  • Awesome. except the tires falling upwards..

  • This may be fake and gay but it is still awesome.

    TYRES GOING UPWARD WOT??? lol

  • For Budding Ideaters- See the Idea.

For Budding Copywriters- "isn't it nice when things just....work."

For Budding Designers- See the Rhythm.

For Critics- Fuck You. It's Sheer Brilliance.

  • Id like to see a room that long

  • Very creative, ladies and gents. Question: Did anyone else think that the inspiration for this ad was the old game "Mouse Trap?"

  • @cabbievonbump the inspiration of that ad is the artwork of fischli and weiss »der lauf der dinge«

  • The Cog: WHEEL EXPLANATION!!!: The weights are put in the exact top center of the wheel so the wieghts, when shifted from equalibrium, would "defy gravity." Thus, making the wheels continue upward. It was not fake, just physics.

  • @freakinfootball08 Rather, each wheel contained a counterweight that, when displaced, forced the wheel to roll forward in an effort to correct itself. A

  • @freakinfootball08 here's the article(make sure you guys RESEARCH before making any wild assumptions), but since I can't actually copy paste the link for some reason, type this in google: Classic Ad: Honda 'Cog'

  • If only it didn't defy gravity (0:27) and do unexplainable stuff (1:26, why do the wipers stop?)

  • its not real how else u can explain the tires moving upawrds

  • Physics suck here....

  • I have always liked that car :)

  • 0:27 wtf?

  • yeah' really great'

  • i remeber watching this on telly

  • This dude needs a life.

  • i love this commercial. i remember this seeing this, but it started at 1:08 seconds because its so long.

  • I really have no idea whether this is GC or real, but it's still awesome.

  • raad

  • awesome

  • that mustve required ALOT of room space

  • i saw better ones , this one is actually lame , try to make it real not CG

  • WOW!!!

  • Ci sta

  • Ah yes, I remember this ad, awesome. One of my favourite ad's of all time!!!!

  • Love how that tire magically propels itself UP the the board.

  • Furthermore, if you tap the wheel at this point the weighted side will fall, pulling the wheel up the hill. Do you want me to draw the Free Body Diagram??

adsilcott: Thanks for upholding and spreading the truth. It's all simple physics. These nay-sayers are so used to having the wool pulled over their eyes by cheap CGI tricks and camera wizardry that they don't know real life when they see it.

  • Ok, I've actually never posted any comment on a video, but reading this exchange made me take the plunge.

evantsarouchas, you actually just answered your own question. The wheel doesn't roll down the slope BECAUSE IT IS WEIGHTED. If you weight a wheel on one side you move the center of gravity from the center of the wheel to being eccentric towards where the weight is placed. If you balance the wheel on the ramp with this weight roughly at the top (and a little uphill) it will balance!

  • by far best rube goldberg ever!

  • LMFAO. Quote: This is the world's costliest Advertisement and the winner of this year's best Ad of the world.

Everything is real with no graphics used costing some 6.2 million US Dollars and 606 takes and retakes <--- Maybe watch the video before you post the info on it?

  • Real!!!!

  • Its real i read about it they had to take 606 takes befor they got it

  • it's fake... do you really believe a tyre can roll up ramp after being gently tapped by another tyre 0:26

  • @evantsarouchas Yeah, and what about the wooden board through the glass?

  • I've seen that trick done before, the wheel has a weight on one side.

  • well guess what.. your WRONG, the internet can lie... do you really believe what the internet says! common sense would tell you that this ad is fake, and i dont blame the producers of this ad, its an ad for a CAR not the fucking Albert Einstein World Award of Science...

  • prove it..

  • OK doubters, search for "Making of Honda Accord Cog". Let's put this debate to rest.

  • So fake, and long!!!

  • It was called "COG".

  • nice.

  • Spettacolo!

  • god animation

  • Not an animation. It's just alot of takes. Google it.

  • a lot of takes? so a tire runs up a ramp..i don't think so dude..the weight of the tire would prevent it from moving....look with your eyes.

  • The wheels are weighted on one side.

  • y'know what... i think that is bullshit, if you can show me a youtube video of that trick, i will take everything back... if not IT'S FAKE...

  • watch?v=s_TkN7nmpLk

  • thats a nice link, considering it doesn't WORK... THE AD IS FAKE, DEAL WITH IT...

  • Links aren't allowed in comments, you have to go to the youtube home page and paste that after the address. I don't care if you think this ad is fake or not, but I've seen that trick done in real life, and like any good magic trick it's simple once you understand it. I'm just trying to explain how it's done, unless you'd rather believe that all magic tricks are done with cg and real magic.

  • lol if they're weighted...gravity would pull them down not up...come on dude...did u listen to anything in school?

  • in Re: to ok doubters...

i watched your link...those tires..even if they WERE weighted..would roll back down...please hang up..and and try your bullshit again...and the window....the board going through the window...you're just blindsided by CGI...cause it's IN EVERYTHING!..i work in the field..i do this stuff..so don't tell me i'm wrong fucktard...go back to school...u obviously have more learning in the "physics" dept.. to do...

  • 31..and from india..i bet you believe the streets are paved with gold too..

  • did u see the board...? clearly through teh window teh whole time..but the window is able to go down with the board there....interesting.....proof positive of CGI...

  • There are two boards, one on either side of the window. If you look closely you can see the gap between them.

  • Let me get this straight, you watched this video: watch?v=NOY4JThl1Bs

and you think that the stage, and all the people on set, the bloopers, the weighted wheels falling off the ramp... all of that was computer generated? You need to get out from behind the computer dude. :)

  • ME GET OUT FROM BEHIND THE COMPUTER?? well im sorry but your the one that spend your time on youtube disputing over videos, and then bothering too find ANOTHER video to prove your point? you really need to get shagged...

  • It's funny that you mention school, because the wheel trick is sometimes shown in physics classes to demonstrate center of gravity. Have you ever seen dominoes go up a ramp? this is exactly the same, except that it's round so it rolls.

  • are you retarded? dominoes are not round like a wheels so there for it cannot roll back down an incline or gradient... how the hell did they even get a wheel to stay stationary on a slope without gaining momentum and rolling down!?!?! and "to demonstrate center of gravity" what the fuck? even if this was a demonstration it would be about gravity and momentum of a spherical object on an incline? douche bag...

  • @sto12m ur a fucking retard. listen closely. there is a heavy weight balanced at the top of the tires. on the ramp, the weight is moved slightly to the side to balance out the slant. when the wheels are bumbed slightly, they will roll the opposite direction and the weight will roll to the bottom in order to balance the tire, even UPHILL! once the weight gets to the bottom, it is heavy enough to keep the wheel from rolling back down.

  • horray for physics

  • what the ssong????

  • @ovi8719 From the Sugar Hill Gang

  • its as awesome bt tooooo long

  • All that to get in a car amazing !!!!

  • honda always gets some good commercials like the one with everyone making the sound of the car. thats still one of my favorite

  • i only like the song at the end.

  • fake but awsome

  • tires going up xD

  • That was so cool XD

  • this ad takes for ages!

  • what triggered the window to roll down ??

  • Regardless, it's an awesome ad, and it took ingenuity, because they really set this up, and it took many times to get it perfect.

  • @fasthonda It's only a 3d animation, Nothing else, Anyone can do theese, For the cost of about 300 $

  • @PAINmedia Hmm I dont know...it looks pretty real to me and not 3D animated even though 3D is getting ALOT more realisitc these days.

  • @LunatikTokyo Also....we cant be certain whether or not if this is CGI or if this was really set up. I read all the heated debates on the previous pages XD You guys are soooo serious!! XD Anywho anyone can observe and nit pick all they want to see if this is CGI or not lol. The only to be certain is to contact Honda XD Oh well...the ad is cool nonetheless :D!!

  • @fasthonda

AMAZING ADV, but, it's not completely real IMHO, like the videos who had inspired this, like Incredible machine or something like this.

    Anyway, really beautiful ADV ;)

  • @fasthonda ummm i dont think its real.

  • @ChickenSuep if you research it you'll find it is :)

  • Wow. Amazing!!!!!!

  • actually this did have computer animation in it, the speakers, they are the only fake part, the bass do not move that violently on a stock civic/accord nor can you put them in an arrangment as such, you need major amps

  • If there are no effects, how come the car in the end turns a little bit towards the camera to look better?

  • R.C dude

  • this actually has some slight cgi in it. the scene was shot in two segments and then fused together with cgi. so 99% of this is all real. no computer effects

  • why are the wheels falling upwards?

  • counter weights, they put them inside the rubber making them heavier on one side making it moe up

  • @zioboby Cause its fake. Lol.

  • @zioboby i think there is a chain that pulls them

  • @zioboby that was the only problem.. still very cool

  • @zioboby cause they bribed gravity to do that

  • @miaufun really? so that's why i fell from the bike a few years ago, i didn't ever know why! :D

  • @zioboby maybe they have added weight to upper forward spoke of wheel, making it move upward, just a thought.

  • @zioboby i think they are on a conveyer of some sort, or they are weighted at the front so they go forward.

  • @zioboby the science of physics won't let that happen in real life

  • @zioboby because of weights in them.

  • met a guy who worked on this

  • met a guy who worked on this

  • when the tires wer rolling it was totally fake!!! tires don't just roll up hills

  • They put weights in it so they can roll upward.
