  • THIS is the sound my Toronto in the 70's during nights at Bellows, David's, Mrs Knights and The Monkey Club. The drums and chorus part sent the energy through the roof!

  • Glad to see my Chicago boys representing Club LaRay! Oooooo weeee the times, the nights, the music. The only time I wish I was young again is when I hear these girls!

  • The future looks bright! <3 My favorite group of all time!

  • Thanks for this post... One of my ultimate favs by Labelle!!!

  • Underground Chicago 80s...

  • Amazing!!! that's alls I can say

  • Was there EVER a group THIS fierce? They (Larry, David, et. al) worked this song for YEARS, and it's no wonder. To this day, I wanna RUN to the dance floor when I hear it. 84 King Forever.

  • @njplr to be at Better Days with Tee in the wheels..this was before remixes..12 inches or ecstacy,, Labelle was and still is the Shit..

  • @imnewman1 Yeah, Tee used to spin the hell outta this.

  • great song, the girls wer awesome, vocal are the best I have ever heard!!

  • I was introduced to this song in the 80s at a Chicago Club called LaRays on the North Side of Chicago. By the time the song was over, I needed a new pair of shoes.

  • @AlfredHaynesLive Oh baby do I remember LaRays. That's one of the clubs I was referring too. Man I used to dance my ass off there.

  • @depluv2 Whenever I try to describe Club LaRay, I refer to it as Chicago's version of Studio 54. There weren't as many celebrities there, but the atmosphere and the music was incredible! I don't think there will ever be another club like it, ever again.

  • @AlfredHaynesLive child what we did not do at the nickle bar. it was magic.

  • @depluv2 In case you didn't know, Club LaRay has a Facebook page. Google "Club LaRay: The Official Page" and check it out! There are great videos from a 1986 party at the club!

  • @AlfredHaynesLive OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GODD this is the SH#T!! This was my JAM Patty had smooth smoooooove SH#T out, and Ronnie used to JACK THIS!!

  • @attaalib Patty who? I love Patty LaBelle, but Nona Hendrix could write her ass off. Nona is a Poetess...a Goddess!!!

  • @attaalib those were the days, my friend!

  • Thanks everyone for all the glorious feedback on this song. I see it really takes you down memory lane.

  • I absolutely love Labelle and anything that has to do with them. This song would come on at the Nickel bar on 72nd street back in the day and the floor would rock. We wore it out. There will never be days or music like that again. Thank you for the memories and I love the pictures.

  • OH HELL YEAH!!! DEN ONE DISCO IN OLD TOWN, CHICAGO 1976'. WE WORE THIS SONG OUT!!!

  • where did I put my silver boots?

  • Turn it up!!!

  • Would that be clubs like Lonnie Fulton's Social Sound or Den One....Chicago....? If so I was there too......

  • the hottest sh...t around!! love the pics of labelle

  • memories!!

  • I mostly remember my mother telling me "TURN THAT DOWN!!!!"

  • I remember seeing Patti perform this at the GARAGE, Larry would turn out the lights, the music was blasting, it was SO CRAZY, MISS U LARRY.

  • LOVELY AND AMAZING HOW PATTI, NONA, AND SARA HAVE MAINTAIN LOVE & FRIENDSHIP OVER ALL THESE DECADES. MOST FEMALE GROUPS FALL APART AFTER THE FIRST SUCCESSFUL SINGLE.

  • I used to lose my mind when Larry Lavan would play this at the Paradise Garage! This is a true "underground" club classic! LEGENDARY! WERK!!!

  • This song is bananas.....LABELLE!!!!!!!

  • Talent! <3
