I read somewhere that mens brains release dopamine when doing or seeing either violent or "manly" things. IE, shooting a dude in the face in a video game. Maybe thats why playing TF2 makes me happy.
These are all interesting ideas for reducing stress (except apparently the last one since i am a guy lol)
I generally use music to deal with stress. To me, there is nothing better when I have a stressful day than sitting down and listening to music. It doesn't matter if it is classical, classic rock, modern rock, indie or whatever...it just helps.
@rossexton bahaha male brains just don't release AS MUCH oxytocin and dopamine when they talk about feelings! They still have them :) I realized when I was editing that might come across wrong, so I tried to edit in a note there :P And brains are very, very silly, haha. Thanks for watching/commenting! :)
Is this what cognitive science is all about? I'm starting to look into it as a possible major and if this is what it's really like, I'd be super interested.
@OhnoesXD Cognitive Science has a wide variety of areas - these are just some cool things I've picked up along the way, but yeah, we talk about this kind of stuff in class! If you're more interested in chemical reactions in the brain, you might want to consider Neuroscience, which is actually where I started out, but if you're more interested in feelings and stuff, Psychology might be better. My full major is "Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science", which is a mix between the two :)
Its just a wee little bug! lol

I'm a gym rat normally so when I get stressed out or emotional I tend to excessively workout, which can be bad...all things in moderation right!?!

I used to think that the human brain was the most amazing fascinating organ in the whole world, but then I thought "guess who's telling me that!"

Anyone that actually believes that 'crying is for sissies and girls' is a douche.
At the risk of sounding not PG-13, grab a mate.
I've read research that women use a 'tend & friend' model of stress coping while men are the classic, 'fight or flight' model.
I nap. It helps to 'reset' my thinking.

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't.
