  • The Stones version is classic, but BP sings it well here with a nice strong and clean vocal range, no doubt. He was very talented and had some great solo hits, not to mention his cool sessions with the Beatles on Let It Be. Apparently they had crossed paths early in the club scene in Hamburg, Germany from what I read. Too sad he is gone already, plus 50% of the Beatles.

  • The english have a talent for copying other peoples things and making it look like its their invention. This song for example and on a non musical note all of their so called maritime explorations which were really just copying known sea routes that the spanish and portuguese had done over 200 years before they even had a navy (yes the spanish were in the pacific islands 200 years before captain cook, the portuguese had india before English even Knew how to sail in the 1500's. Pompous fakes

  • @Mindybu You stupid cunt. Britain was the genesis for the States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and allowed them to become the country they are today of the back of that underpinning. Look at the ex-Spanish colonies. We were the first to abolish slavery. Britain has taken their lead from things - not copied - and often produced major improvements. No country has done more to shape the culture of the world. You cretin.

  • @geepstar u missed my point. This clown wrote about the back up white singers in the Preston version as being better than the Stones. I don't give a damn about black and white issues as I like all types of music. In the case if Preston's performance, I like it, very soulful but what makes the Stones or the original version best for me is that it's a completely new sound and not bluesy, it's got an energetic frenzy, a new edgy sound and it's what shot around the world saying, " This is what we

  • this version is bangin'... pure animalistic funky drive

  • Wow. The things good black artists had to do in order to get white people to support them. Thank you for helping to pave the way, Billy Preston.

  • I can't get no....SOUL GLOW!!!!!!!

  • my Billy Preston album is a treasured possession. Hammond genius.

  • did he release this version on any of his albums by any chance?

  • haha brotha with a bowl cut.

  • Fricking Amazing!!! Billy you will be missed!

  • The fifth Beatle????

  • oh my god!!! her face resembles that of Mick jagger¿!!!! oh my dog!

  • c'mon, get up!

  • Amazing. Never thought it was from afro-american. Thanks to all those great singers...

  • @baytomay It's a Stones songs ya ignorant p! It was an honor that after covering so many black american songs the Stones were covered by two great African American singers, Billy and Otis Redding did Satisfaction some years later.

  • Better than Stones version!!

  • just know Billy Preston from his awe inspiring hammond organ Had no idea he was a brilliant soul singer also

  • Good Lord, Bruthah preston is a bad ass!

  • i thought it was rolling stones song :O this version is great too

  • @globusa100

It is a Rolling Stones original song. Billy is just performing it

on this TV program from 1965.

  • Much better than Stones. Really amazing, Mr. Preston!

  • Great voice~!!!!!!! >3<

  • The Stones should've let him sing this song while he toured with them. Nice vintage video, thanks to the poster.

  • I guess it's a concert, he's playing a Concert Hammond organ.

  • ha,ha. what's that hairdo?? It looks like Frankenstein!!!

  • ha, the nig trying to tame his hair like the white man

  • that wz cool

  • Hate to say it but I actually like Preston's version BETTER than the Stones version!

  • billy covered: eight days a week a hard day's night my sweet lord i've got a feeling all things must pass blackbird day tripper let it be get back here, there, and everywhere this, in addition to his appearance on practically the whole of the 'let it be' album. this, in addition to his appearance in that bee gees shitshow pepper movie. this, in addition to his appearance at the tribute concert for george harrison. yeah, i'd guess that that's what's up with the fuckin' haircut, kid.
  • pathetic back up band LOL

  • What's with the Beatle hair cut?

  • Do you remember? the roling stones famouse song!!!!!!!!

  • billy preston what have they done to your hair? good lord...

  • Dem white boys havin trouble keepin up ...

  • @kenkram1 Why do we have to involve race into this?

  • @kenkram1 the only white boys who come out of this looking bad are the Rolling Stones. The Shindogs are triple-badasses who could back anyone up!

  • @cinephonik Are you fucking nuts??????????? Nothing against Billy Preston, he's doing what he likes covering the Stones.

  • @cinephonik I've got to say it again, are you nuts??? those white boys are the most conservative piece of trash of what was completely wrong with America and you say the Stones come out looking bad, you must be from "Up with People".

  • @JoshSwartzberg What w the Black and White bit Just devisive, no substance to it : The Stones at that time cut some great records , some of which were blues covers some better than the originals some not nearly as good. Yeah then R n B artists covered the Stones pop tunes as well but look this versions is good yet Otis' version sucks hard, much as I dig a lot of his stuff. Yardbirds & Stones helped a lot to re awaken us to our own music, born in the American melting pot, Blues.

  • @cinephonik One more time, you're out of your mind!

  • He did a better on Satisfaction than most live Rolling Stones presentations, of course nothing will ever top The Stones Satisfaction record

  • Interesting to watch this back-to-back w/ 'Dig It' (Beatles "Let It Be" film) footage.

  • never have heard this before, not even knew he had sung this

  • Billy without the fro? Wild! His fro later gave him magical strength and powers

to jump up the funk. Dig?

  • he sings better than the stones!

  • @aryowailangitoyo97 That's not really difficult xD

  • This is great! One Minute and Twenty Six Seconds of great Rock'n'Roll!

  • Look at the lame why guys in the back!

  • @aphdes look at ya self in the mirror arsehole, when was the last time you sang backing vocal on live tv

  • Rolling stones roll over!

  • lol..lol..billy's a beatle...check the hair-do!...

  • the band and back up singers are all white and Billy is rocking soul! Just a coincidence right? unbelievable racism. How sad - and hurtful. thankfully we have progressed.

  • @em2bill

    amen

  • 0:31 the first clapper from the left tells him the lyrics ;]

  • Good one ! Thanks,also,Otis Redding does a killer'Satisfaction'

  • Not as good as the Stones version, maybe 2nd best!

  • So thats a wig right? (beatles) His usual hair was very curly afro. So by singing a Stones song in a Beatles wig,he got a job playing with both.

  • @guitarzan59 Black men were still processing their hair in the mid-sixties. The Afro hairstyle started popping up in the late sixties. Check out Major Lance on his Shindig appearances. His hairstyle was typical of the time.

The Beatles and Stones were fortunate to have Billy play on their albums.

  • better than the stones !!!! f*cking sure..

  • @emon1910 YEAH

  • AWESOME!!! Thank You!
