  • ohhh.... amazing, im a canon user and its true what they say about nikon lenses there unlike any other.

  • what adapter are you using?

  • The quality is amazing! I have this lens and I wonder if you denoise your footage?

Check out my channel, i have a few short films made with the 550D...

  • nice bokkeh

  • are you autofocusing or manual focusing? Is this a good lens for video, like putting on a steadicam and is it autofocusing by itself or do i have to press the shutter?

  • @vindicatedmess Manual focusing, not pressing the shutter but moving the focus in the lens by hand. You can´t use the autofocus of a nikon lens on a canon body ;)

  • @juantizon on 550d you can't autofocus during video, neither with canon lenses afaik.. without getting soo bad results and sometimes a lightning change..

  • What are the best settings for shooting video night with the kit lens? lowest f/3.5 and shutter speed 1/50th while iso @ 400 - 800 ? I'm concerning mostly the shutter speed, I found that the best shutter speed is to double the frame rate, thus 24,25 => 1/50 shutter speed and probably for night shots the lowest f/stop is recommended. Any suggestions?

  • @whoisrikk1 There are no "best settings".In film you control the shutter angle,180º being the most common at 24p/25p.That´s equivalent to 1/50 electronic shutter(it gets exposed half of the time)So if you shoot 50fps for 25fps playback you should double de shutter speed(1/100)to get the same motion feel.Slower than that the image becomes blurry when fast motion happens.Higher than that you get a kind of high speed feel,strobe-like. Control your DOF with the aperture and compensate with ISO speed

  • nice video, may i ask u something?

whenever i use 18-105mm with d7000, the noise is killing me even though i reduce the ISO. what i can do?is there and solution for that. thanks

  • @yemenicreatives yes, use light or get a faster lens.

  • Are ou using a Lexar 16GB Class 4?

  • hello dude, nice video and what a cute boy! hurm I wanna ask, canon 50mm f1.4 or Sigma 50mm f1.4 is gooder and greater? I wanne buy one of them, but both have superb quality

  • @abimdanial um the person in the video is a girl...

  • Hi! Anything else needed for the nikkor stuff than a lens and the adapter? Focusing screen...etc?

For AF confirmation is the adapter with the chip good enough.

  • can any 550d owners help me. I am having trouble getting my videos to come out clearly. I am using a class 10 card and importing into iphoto as it doesnt show up on finder. but the video is not as clear as it appears on the LCD screen. is it a matter of the getting the right software or what? any help will be greatly appreciated!

    thanks.

  • @youtoobeiz4loosers I have seen that comment on nearly every video to do with this camera lol. spammer,

what are your computer specs ?? maybe you have crap grafix card

  • @FabricioSTH I like very much the field of view you get using a 50mm lens (using a 1.6 camera) it´s a nice (and a cheap) fast lens, nikon looks sharp even at f1.4, i haven´t used the canon, but from what i´ve seen it looks quite similar. Perfect for portraits (photo or video) :) Hope this helps a little

  • what data format is it when you put it on the pc?

  • @TheGenerationFilms It is mpeg4 .mov (around 48Mbps)

  • @juantizon H.264/AVC type of MPEG-4

  • May I know what is your SDHC brand / Class? 16GB?

  • @juantizon, may I know what brand & class of your SDHC card? 16GB?

  • @same240 Of course! I´m using several 16gb cards from Lexar :)

  • @juantizon I see, Lexar is class 4? So to get a smooth HD video recording, at least need to get class 4, right? so class 6 is much better, right?

  • @skumail you get more noise when you use high iso (above 800iso it gets quite noticeable at full screen)

  • sorry. for some reason when I hit the video record button , it stop after 6-7 seconds and there was a message "video recording is stopped automatically. I was planning to film more. And I already set it to 30 mins. Why did it stop ?

  • @YoungB4o8 What class are the SDHC card that you are using? you should use at least class4 for hd video :)

  • @juantizon thank you! I will get the Sandisk Class 10 then. By the way. How can you adjust the Picture Style ? Neutral is 0,0,0,0 right ?

  • @YoungB4o8 I use Sharpness -4, Contrast -4, Color -2 and Color Tone 0 for most mixed light and shadow situations, for shadow only scenarios y have another profile whith contrast -2 so it doesn´t look too dull.

  • was this all natural lighting?

  • @thatniggbeme7 Yes, just available light.

  • Screw that ads in your videos. If anyone wants to subscribe or view more, the links are right to the video. It' more annoying than useful, imo.

  • hey i need helps here , im using 16GB memory stick class4 , wen im recording videos , after 20+sec it will stop automatically..wat hapen?

  • @doommic It seems that not all cards are built equally. I have a Lexxar class4 that works flawlessly. I would recommend using class 6 to assure video work. :)

  • What adapter did you use to mount the Nikon lens to your T2i?

  • @f00fightrs A standard ebay adapter without focus confirmation. Just zoom x10 to check focus.

  • does it have an audio input socket??

  • @myrdalism 3.5mm Stereo mini jack with automatic gain. You should get an external audio recorder.

  • @juantizon thats great. i think ill buy this one.. thanks @juantizon

  • @myrdalism yep a 3.5 input on the side

  • soooooooo sweeeet.

  • is 30 seconds the max time you can film with this camera?

  • @eline239 No, the maximum continuous recording time is 10 minutes (4gb filesize limit) :)

  • @juantizon ooohh ok. sweet! I'm thinking about getting one myself. ;)

  • Help me out here please. I just spent 345$ Normal EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Autofocus Lens for my 550D trying to get shallower DOF.Did I overpay for that and should I have gone for Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D Autofocus Lens? I didn't even know that Nikon lenses can fit on Canon lenses. Is there any major differences between the two?

  • @tikurgisila the nikon will not auto focus on a canon body, the addapter needed will not transfer autofocus, also the focusing will have to be done manually but i fyou are filming you really only want to use manual focusing as auto is slow and noisy.

  • @tikurgisila ,

I have the T1i and the EF 1.4. $345 is fair pricing.

Doesn't matter if you put on the nikon or the canon. Depends if you can manually control the aperture on the T2i while in video mode. Just put the AF mode to Manual on the ef f/1.4 while in video mode and play with it. Film a subject about 5 feet away and you will see the Shallow DOF effect you're looking for.

  • @tikurgisila

Every manual focus lens is good enough for video mode DSLRs :) Just be sure the lens will give you good sharp image wide open.

  • i have the camera and i still dont know how to focus like you are....what do you have to do??? btw great video!

  • @saiedmiremadi Just open the iris to get that shallow depth of field effect. :)

  • @juantizon how do you open it

  • @oliverlaulok Look for nikon series with iris ring.

  • i am thinking of buying myself a 550d. I was just wondering how much space (in mb) a 30 sec video in this quality takes on a sd card??? Thanks ;)

    Great video!

  • @YOUhaveGOTtoFIGHT In full HD about 145mb.

  • lovely shot : )

  • Hacía frio?
