  • I think i know why i thought i couldnt dance. i was trying to dance to shit music. xD THIS. this is good ^_^

  • Black women are the finest in the world!

  • 1. Isley Brothers Live

    2. the betales

    : )

  • Much better than the fab four- its the isleys song and they do it sweet and soulful...beatles tried too hard

  • @msisisful It isn't the Isleys song actually it was wrote by The Top Notes.

  • @Cwall96 it wasn't written by top notes... they just sung it... phil medley and bert berns wrote this song.

  • I love this but I must admit I like the Spanish Twist by the Isley's better. It's a better work out.

  • OMG EWW

  • Don't get me wrong. I like both versions I love the Beatles too. I grew up with the original version and so tend to like that one better. I grew up listening to the Beatles as well and like their music as well.

  • @sharodu you wish

  • it looks like a christian concert.................apart from the strippers

  • The beatles did this better:)

  • @Crazygirl12151215 - you must have never heard the original version.

  • @sharodu-i have and i love the beatles so of course i would think there version is better:)

  • Fuck The Beatles

them song stealing boring hippie assholes

  • Sorry but I like The Beatles version better :)

  • @iLoveTheBeatlesss fuck The Beatles

them song stealing boring hippie assholes

  • The Beatles version was pale into comparison to this one.

  • I like more Beatles Version.....

  • I'm still looking for the "sexy" dancer's......

  • The Beatles version is WAY better.

  • The Beatles' version of the song was based on the Isley Brothers hit in 1962. The Isleys drasically changed the song from the original by the TopNotes and all covers are based on the Isley interpretation.

  • @emmettk

And the Beatles made it a hardrocking edgy rock'n'roll song.

    thank god.

the isleys version is okay, but pretty boring.

not much energy in there, they could have done it much better i guess.

  • the dancer with the shoulder length curly hair is bonerific! holy shit i gotta go to more oldies shows

  • Is that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the blue suit? LOL!!!

  • the beatles really owe it to the isley bros.

  • if i was on stage and those fine girls started grinding up on me i could say this is better than the beatle's cover, but i'm not on stage, and so it isn't.

  • When are going to stop bawling and complaining about being ripped off. Appreciate a better version. The Beatles version is better in my opinion- and that's my opinion and that of many others- so let it be.

  • Didn't the Isley brothers write Twist & Shout?

  • so the beatles stole this?

  • @benvindo05 Covered it. I like it, but it does't have the soul that the original does.

  • Sadly, very few people would have heard of this song had the Beatles not covered it. it is sad to see how hate and jealousy blind you to the truth. Such are the ways of the world

  • @Reachingoutagain

Reminds me of Elvis Presley - Hound Dog --- he ripped off so many black singers, it's not funny

  • @Reachingoutagain Si sampling ripping off - man the whole black music industry these days is based on robbing it'd own vaults. Is that paying credit - or ripping off??

  • Isley best ... then maybe tremolos ...

if Lennon was alive he tell ya too

wonder if Paul takes it on still ...

(most love the fab 4 version cause you hear it 20x more then isley one .. )

  • I met Ernie Isley. He talks about riding an elevator, and the Beatles got on after having a monster hit with this Isley tune. Life is stranger than fiction.

  • the is a cover too the beatles covered it too it is originaly by the Top Notes

  • this is the original, fuck the ugly beatles

  • The Isleys almost never sing any song live the way it was recorded.

  • I'm old school this was the no. 1 on the pop charts in 1958. Bobby Darin had the biggest song 1959 remember Mack The Knife. The original version is better. The Beatles did this song word for word, note for note.

  • beatles made it first

  • @TheComedyBeatle no! top notes recorded the original

  • @TheComedyBeatle they made it first the beatles just covered it but preferr the beatles version more

  • @TheComedyBeatle Wrong.

  • ass hole dum black dude

  • Very sexy dancers. Of course it's better than The Beatles' version.

  • Beatles the bests

  • the guy in the blue suit is Tom Joyner

  • Who is the guy in the Blue Suit is he part of the band or is he a gate crasher!!! its a good live version by the Isley Brothers ...but its hard to beat the Beatles version with John Lennon singing

  • @hungryherbie Perhaps it's worth noting that mr. Isley is over 60 years old in this version...

  • @OnkelMickwald well he did a great job and if that doesn't get your foot taping nothing will

  • @hungryherbie Oh well my point was that I think it's unfair to compare a live version made by a senior artist to a studio version made by guys in their early 20's.

  • @OnkelMickwald your absolutely right they really shouldn't be compared ..Isley Brothers did a fine live version and that there no doubt......

  • @hungryherbie I was just gettin ready 2 talk about yo dumb ass, but then I looked at ur web page & noticed ur from over seas. So my appology! The man in da blue suit is 1 of my favorite DJ's in da world. His name is Tom Joyner. I've been listening 2 him since the 80's when he had a show in Dallas. He is a Legend here in da States. 2 me he looks quite cool doing a fine version of da twist. He's got a notorious sidekick name J Anthony Brown dat should have been up there twistin his ass off wit TJ

  • @therealraybaby well thank god I'm from overseas otherwise I would have got a tongue lashing from your good self lol...I made that comment 8 months ago but since then a couple of people informed me of my stupidity regarding this man in the blue suit I now know of course he's a famous DJ ...at least you had the sense to see where I came from and understood that I wouldn't have known him ..well thanks for all the extra info. cheers mate

  • Tom Joiner, radio mogul. Comments are interesting re the best version given that the original was done by the Eisley Bros

  • @Doreen882 There is old saying that the original is the best but sometimes but rarely the original can be improved on and this the case here.. I believe The Beatles

with John Lennon singing made it better but not by much ...but no doubt The Isley Brothers made a great live performance here

  • @hungryherbie The original was done by Top Notes, which you can find on youtube. It was then covered by The Isley Brothers.

  • @AlienTruth Well that's something I didn't know that Top Notes made the original version .well I looked them up and to be honest I wasn't impressed at all ..if I was to give it marks out of 10 it would be only 4 where as Isley Bros. 7...and the Beatles..

9..not sure if you would agree or not but there you have it......cheers

  • @hungryherbie the guy in the blue is the host Tom Joyner

  • Comment removed

  • @hungryherbie The Isleys Originated and wrote the song! The guy in the blue suit it DJ Tom Joyner.

  • @sharodu Yes your right about the DJ in the blue suit thanks for the info and what a great live performance by The Isley Brothers top drawer stuff..cheers herbie

  • @hungryherbie The Beatles based their version off the Isley Brothers. The orginal "Shake it up, Baby" came out in '61. Isley brothers remade into the now famous version in '62. The Beatles did a cover of th Isley Brother's version in '63. I like the isley's orginal recording of it the best. But yeah, the Beatles version is amazing too :)

  • @WLhokies Cheers WL for all the info and these guys put on a fantastic live performance here they would certainly get your feet tapping ..herbie

  • The Beatles rendition is best.

  • 0.06 - lmao

  • jackson 5 had it.

  • didn't Little Richard write this song originally? I like his vocals for it

    good audio, especially with headphones

  • it was originally done by the topnotes

  • True, It was originally done by the topnotes, but I liked the STUDIO produced version done by the Isley Brothers. The Beatles did it later, but were inspired by the Isley version.

  • @repunza hell yeah the beatles can! The beatles are the best!

  • It's okay... would be nice though, as a show, if the dancers would get synchronized. It looks kinda lazy when two or three of them are moving in unison and the others can't stay on the beat.

  • In my opinion, the beatles version is more better,

  • I like this song, but I like the beatles version better.

  • I must say in this particular video the Beatles are better, but not on the original song by the Isley Brothers.

  • the original song in not by the Isley brothers, but it's wrote by phil medley and bert russell

  • hehe i love black singers... i prefer this version to the topnotes' one, but i must say that that i prefer the beatles' version to this too

yeh CHABA95 0:04 very funny xD

  • The Beatles Did It MUCH BETTER xP

  • No Beatles cover of a song first performed by a Black American artist was better than that original.

  • @LuigiRocks14 OMG you got to be kidding. Not one beatle can out sing Ronald.

  • shakee it babyyyyyyy...

  • I think I just twisted...something..OMG!

  • no, that was my fooooottt LOL ouch!!

  • oh oops look at the person's name that posted this video, footcheck hahaha...good one *****

  • Yeah...well I need a bootycheck..Lol!

  • who are the dancers?

  • beatles better version ! sorry dancers rubbish ! bald guy v funny

  • 0:04 fucking hilarious!

  • looks/sounds like bapist gospel music

  • The Beatles.... Way Better!!!

  • ur totaly right

  • Love the song! Great dancers both on stage AND dancing in the audience seats. Thanks for posting this!

  • i love the sexy dancers in red dress

  • damn...Mad Jock? I thought he was doing a dime at Pelican Bay....too bad Isley wound up his punk...Mad Jock don't share...oh well..

  • Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na.... the people is the audience are the better dancers---just common folk havin' fun. LOL

  • haaaaah ledari and his mom are a piece of shit...

  • Phil Medley? You don't mean Bill medley of the Righteous Brothers? They would have kicked ass with this song...why is Ron Isley in Jail? that sucks. I hope people left him alone in there, he's a great artist.

  • They didnt, he was a dude called Mad Jock Mac Murderer's punk. Ouch!

btw, this is shit compared to The Beatles cover. Dreadful.

  • @LozMac33 Well... Beatles' cover is shit compared to Springsteen's

  • @LozMac33 that's because it's different

  • Hahah, I dare say those dresses are just a 'little' shorter than they would have been when the band first released this song in 1962

  • no kidding. those dancers are amazing

  • this is great, though i like more the beatles version

  • Twist and Shout was written by Phil Medley and Bert Berns. The Top Notes were the first to record it. Then the Isley Brothers and then The Beatles.

Ron Isley, who should be out of the big house in less than a year, is also a big fan of the Beatles version.

  • he shouldd hate on them mofos for stealing that song , jackasses , FREE RON ISLEY FO SHO

  • one in the middle,mercy!

  • o yeah , specially when the isley brothers wrote it

  • Actually, the Top Notes wrote it.

  • newb

  • Where is the riginal recording of "Twist and Shout" by the Isley Brothers. This sucks.

  • The original was done by the "Top Notes"

  • Rock Classic... who ever performs it the "Original" (TopNotes) is cool as posted earlier. It was an early Phil Spector production.... FREE RON ISLEY!

  • They're still great at this. Good as it is, this is just another cover of their original 45, which is only on YouTube as a speaker2mike transcription. I don't think any cover versions came close to the maniacal, almost demonic sound of that record, certainly not the Beatles'. Drums, guitar, vocals and reverberation, just come out of the speakers and attack you. I don't think anyone, even the Isley Brothers, will ever match what was on that record; hope someone posts a full fidelity clip of it.

  • well it's their song but i like the beatles better, they got the audience pumped

  • nice 2 no :) thanks 4 agreein

  • this is sooo gay compared to the beatles . . .. they r awsome!!! :P

  • i think so to

  • The best!!!!!!!!!
