If what I read & heard in an interview once, Gerard went to law school & I believe he took the bar exam but never heard if he passed or not; hwr, I am so thankful he went into film vs the law. An immigration officer gave him grief when applying for citizenship some yrs later & the super got involved after reading his svc records w/military. He immediately granted him citizenship. I recall his planning then taking his wife of 30+ yrs to his hometown in Scotland on their anniversary. She was so happy she was in tears; she's a sweetheart. I'm honored to have known him.
