The closest that happened was when the CIA spiked a French village with huge amounts of LSD as an experiment. Obviously, not knowing what it is, and with the high doses and mass hysteria, everyone was going through horribly bad trips.

Maybe this documentary was funded by the CIA to encourage more bad trips in the U.S.

God bless the CIA. The acrimony targeted at this institution by leftwingnuthuggers only increases my admiration. LSD, and pot, are huge contributors to the irreconcilable social issues we now face; little wonder folks have made a cult of liberal causes and efforts. Those engaged in a militant politicalization of our culture have overwhelmingly used or are still using hallucinogens. Marijuana is still classified as such and has inspired millions toward a fanaticism of self absorbtion.

Well actually, his first time, in 1938, he accidentally took it by absorption onto his skin, the second time, in 1943, he experimented deliberately to explore the extent of its effects. Second, the government never had intention of using it in Vietnam as studies on it were dying out. It was basically used by the Central Intelligence Agency in the 1950s as a possible tool for mind-control, subliminal messaging and psychological warfare under "Project MK-ULTRA".

@locutusofborg278 Partly wrong. Hoffman invented it in 1938, but didn't ingest any until 1943 when he resynthesized it on a hunch. He absorbed a little, felt weird, then a few days later decided to try a "small" dose, whereupon he discovered the enormous potency and power of the miracle drug.

@JoshSitar How are CIA is sick fucks? Official lab LSD is actually good for you if you dont overdose. This video is propaganda. Only street acid is bad for you, it is quite unlikely to be harmful otherwise though.

@Pawnbroker00 The CIA are sick fucks because of MKULTRA. Their experiments with LSD are totally fine by comparison. (And they're arguably totally fine to begin with.)

Also, I would love to get a link to a medical article that proves that lab LSD is actually good for you. I'm not questioning your claim's validity, but I tend to get into drug-related arguments a lot and it would be a nice link to have.

@Pawnbroker00 Well for one you can't fit barely any cocaine and heroin on acid blotter. It's a 1/4" by 1/4" piece of paper. even with microdots. adulterating acid usually doesn't happen. People do use RC's though (Research Chemicals) such as DOI and DOB's. If the hit tastes funny then spit it out! Unless you got some Hoffmans, they have a slight metallic taste!
