  • what year is this 2003?

  • The most underrated rock band in history.

Love this album played it at least 1000 times.

  • When I saw them do this in 89 they had a fully produced backing track for it. Both versions are very good, but a different sound. I kind of like the rocked out sound of this one...

  • Good job on them for playing so well. Man I miss the studio sound though..

  • I was gonna respond to this comment, but everyone else has already pointed out what I was gonna say...this song was one of the most amazingly-produced songs of its time, back when production quality really mattered. To translate that kind of production quality live would take so much more technology and people to pull it off (but they could!). If I were The Outfield, I'd have had a backing track for a song like this, but kudos to them for the attempt.

  • dittos

  • I love the voices of Babylon, I know that they exist. Babylon is talked about in the Bible and there are voices today that cause evil in this world... Makes people do things they don't really want to do... Way to Go brew27 for posting this AWESOME Video

  • The only band I know that can faithfully reproduce complicated studio music on tour is Rush. Even they admit it's hard because they are triggering samples with their feet while singing and playing. One mistake and you've got a trainwreck on your hands.

I give Outfield credit for trying to adapt the song by using guitar distortion to fill in some of the space left by the synth effects of the studio production. This performance captures the essence of the song quite well.

  • geez.............good vocals......nice....

  • that song had too much dubbing and over-dubbing it would take about 7 guys playing to get it right----but-----I think the Outfields live version is Fantastic----I thought this was a song that could never be attempted live by a 3-piece band but they do it justice!!!!

  • Although the sound quality is poor, it's still nice to see a live version of this brilliant song. Note - it's almost impossible to do justice to it live, cos the original was so perfectly produced in studio.

  • Actually, on 2nd listening, it is a below-par vocal performance for a band that was vocal perfection when I saw them in the early 90s.

But a below-par Outfield vocal performance is still better than most bands' average performance, IMO.

The guitar does sound a bit trebly/"buzzy", but that is probably the recording.

  • Most underrated band ever!

  • How recent was this performance?

Sound quality isn't so hot, but the

    performance sounds solid.

These guys were always an underrated band.
