HaHaHa! I know there is a bagpipe version on one of Fausts records :)
That reminds me when I was playing folk music with two Germans(!). Me and my friend presented some cool tunes, but unfortunately one of guys had heard them on a CD/CDs). He said: can't we play something that is not on a CD? It took the rest of the day to explain that 99% of Swedish folk music that people play are recorded (solo/with a band). It's amazing how many Swedish folk music recordings that's been released!
and I'm surprised how many of your tunes I heard before. because I remember an evening in Skane when I wanted to join a session but all they played was stuff from southern Sweden and I only knew tunes from Dalsland at that time^^
Well I got to admit, I don't know too many southern tunes, my heart is more into the Dalarna region. At the Korrö festival for example, I did not recognize a lot of tunes people were playing. It was not until the last day/morning (around were I had my tent set up) that I found a group of people that was playing tunes from all over the place. Stuff I could tag along and play as well. That was a fun 2 hrs!
Great tune...and yes, the church has ruined more than one culture around the world. Fortunately, not all in Sweden was lost
