@rchrdbgi8 All that can be said is if you are nearly snapping the gear lever on a SCANIA then it is something to do with your driving intelligence, as a ZF box on a daf is a 4 over 4 like a simple car and a SCANIA is 3 over 3 that takes a little thinking about maybe that will be the problem!. But then again i bet the daf you drive is automatic which is a proper womens truck.

Bit of a pain in the ass reversing an automatic with no clutch control. The early version of them automatic daf's were a pain in the neck not sure have the newer versions improved. So if we had tractors like you have in the USA we would have pretty short trailers ... and the trailer the room you can use to haul cargo is where the money is at. I hate to be a ballbreaker (and I understand I'm not there seeing it in person) but I think that when the slots are that tight, you should start your maneuvering much higher in the yard. You're having to jack way too hard and causing a blind area on your passenger side where you NEED to see. Not just trust it fits and watch one side. When I was learning, a guy I drove with used to say "use every bit of area you have available". In the last scene you had a wide open pull up area available.
When a camera team is filming you .... you might not be at your best.
And here in Europe yards and places where to load or unload can be somewhat narrow ... in 2008 I was a day on the road in the USA, Colorado with an american (guy) truckdriver ... he said ´in this yard it is awfully narrow . ´ well maybe for American standards but for European it was a lot of room ;)

You're a truck driver, maybe you could explain to me why all the trucks are so flat in front. With proper aerodynamics it could be saved up to 50% of petrol. Everything is so "green" these days, but why don't they do something about the trucks? I have never understood that.
I used to work on docks; there were 3 women only the rest were all men. All 3 woman always came in to ask me to guide them back, and they could not crank the trailer up to get it off the rig. Totally useless.

LZV is up to 25m25cm .. but that is not common within the whole of EU.
I do not know how this translates into FEET do ...
40 feet === SEACONTAINER and also chassis.
Also 45 Feet chassis .... but the maximum lenght of a tractor and trailer 16m50
Not only the length of the trailer ... but the whole combination.

Great video, i just finished a tractor trailer course and got my license. I haven't driven a cab over design.. i learned on a Western Star Stratosphere Low Max with a 515 hp Detroit Diesel.

You're a truck driver, maybe you could explain to me why all the trucks are so flat in front. With proper aerodynamics it could be saved up to 50% of petrol. Everything is so "green" these days, but why don't they do something about the trucks? I have never understood that.
You're a great truck driver must say!

I used to work on docks; there were 3 women only the rest were all men. All 3 woman always came in to ask me to guide them back, and they could not crank the trailer up to get it off the rig. Totally useless.

AWESOME backing abilities, Anna! We Americans have a LOT more room in most places than you do in Europe and many of our drivers don't do as well... And I don't understand why so many American drivers have to have a hood (bonnet) out in front of the window on their truck. Your DAF is just as comfortable as our Kenworths and Peterbilts and a HECUVA lot more manueverable! Thanks for sharing!
