Hey dude, everything sounds sweet, but I acually had a question on your guitar. What type is it , and what do you think of it. I was thinking on buying the MH-401NT guitar. Thanks a lot , Rock on !
does this amp react good to change of guitars? I mean does an alder guitar sound different from a mahogany guitar through this? I have tested it only with an alder guitar and it sounded great. But i have 3 guitars and i want to know if they will sound different enough. I have played through amps that dont care if you play a les paul or a jackson for example and i don't like this feature..
@topografer well i was just at sweetwater and tryed this out with my jackson slsmg soloist, all mahogany, i can tell you with mahogany its orgasmic, sounds like a dime-meet eddie tone, and it still has an excellent clean tone to match
That's nice! I love mahogany for its wall-of-sound tone. The thing is that i use both alder and mahogany guitars (and my next buy will be basswood) so i was wondering if i will notice any difference when swapping guitars, like with a mesa boogie for example
In that case I would suggest you looking for an amp with maybe an 1/8 input jack, or possibly a 1/2 inch. but it seems as from my experience that no amp cares what you plug into it, as long as it's a 1/4 instrument cable :) P.S. is there really somewhere in the instruction manual that says this amp will not accept certain guitars??? get back to me on that j\k
Yes! it has a built in variac half power switch= Same great cranked tone w/ half the power. This recording in fact was around the normal "bedroom level" I use.
Yes but in a band situation things are louder, gain is rolled back for more cut. Also the bass player and drummer can also take up their part in the frequency mix. Here he is just by himself and probably not at a live power setting so he has things maxed a little more in compensation for that.... :)
dude I feel the same way but I think with this amp you can get a modern metallica sound with a more of a punchy sound for shredding while with marshalls they aren't that shredable and they are more expensive
THIS TONE IS AWESOME *_*

Electric Funeral sounds better (read: more evil) the way you play it.

I think it lacks presence though, or is it just the tone knob that's rolled down?

how much gain and bass can you get out of these. eg how heavey as in a band can u name a band as in the sound you could get?
jcallseven 2 years ago
You do know that in a band you use LESS gain and LESS bass, right?
BCTamps 2 years ago
yes but i was told that these amps have little gain i am not saying that i would necessarily use it all.

Awesome! Con you do a cover of a metallica song with that amp?
My recent facination with metallica has rather steered me towards marshall but something is telling me I should buy this..... Master of puppets
