  • My girl just turned 8 and she'll only do this on cool mornings. lol, watching your video reminds me how she has changed. Now the morning sprints look more controlled like she's doing wind sprints.

Only get a RR if you can spend a lot of time with them. Like you're retired or self employed or have a stay at home wife with kids.

  • @mangravy2000 It is funny how Mahlah is now 4 and doesn't quite has this enthusiasm anymore. However she flies when she see a jack rabbit or antelope in this field.

And yes, only get a RR if you are willing to actually be active with your dog. She is a big inspiration for exercise. If you want a dog to fetch your slippers and hang out in the backyard, this is not the dog for you!

  • my ridgeback does this too! in the mornings he gets so playful and excited, but the rest of the day he is docile. obsessed with this dog.

  • as for ours she likes to hit the swampy long grass zig zagging at 100% full throttle , as well as lying on the couch with her head and paws on my leg, we love her she's fantastic.

  • @Ukiwi I have never seen this dog run as fast as she does at 13000 feet when we hike the Colorado 14ers. She FLIES at altitude, its crazy. (Then she sleeps on her chair for a week.:)

  • She likes that toy. Good for her.

  • She's beautiful! I have a 9 and 12 year old and reminds me of when they were pups. AHA~! I knew those peaks were Colorado..beautiful.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • My favorite part is @ :52...she hits the go button..

  • @PikesXterra Awesome

  • i love how much energy ridgebacks have! i wish i could bottle it. lol

  • Beautiful.

  • When ours does simmilar things on our walks I call it his funny five minutes. in his mind he probably just hunted down a very dangerous snake that needs killing. These bursts of energy are mostly followed by 23 hours of being fast asleep.

  • @TheChakamama When she's not doing this she is dead asleep on the couch...

  • @PikesXterra it is difficult to explain this to people who dont own RRs. They think "Oh my God, I couldnt cope with an active dog like that." Active? They could hold Olympic Games in who sleeps the most! Or as they call it "Conserves energy the best!". ;-)

  • @TheChakamama My Zak and Nala have a funny five minutes too. Zak's tail bends in half and he runs around like a loon. especially if it is long grass or some kind of bouncy stuff like see heather. I love seeing it, always makes me smile.

  • sure brings back memories of my ridgeback....

we got him when he was 1 and had him for 12 years.

  • I love to watch them run free! Just watch that road up there! Yikes!

  • It's a closed road, don't worry, I would never let her play on a road!

  • She is absolutely adorable! Can't wait to get my pup next Spring. ;D

  • Great!!!

  • Genau so kennen wir sie .

    Tolles Video.

  • Nice Ridgeback and nice video. A lot of energy they always have!

  • Nice Video..I Cant Wait Till My Little baby Too Grow Up So I Can Do The Same Thing..She's One That Runs And Jumps,I Love Her Nature!!

  • What a great dog! My 4 year-old Ridgeback mix named Milo is healing from a leg injury so he can't run like that right now, unfortunately. Beautiful mountains in background too. South Africa, I assume?

  • Thanks. The mountain is Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Her dad came from South Africa though...

  • beautiful! I love it!

    5 stars!
