I was a band teacher for 32 years Jayme. Music performance is a very individual thing ... that's called interpretation. Criticism is a part of life and can be a very good thing to help us improve. Rudeness is never ok. It usually indicates jealousy on the part of the person being rude. My suggestion - keep doing what you are doing. Let your music evolve. Be proud of yourself. You have a lovely voice. Do not be discouraged - please! EVERY musician has hit bumps in the road. Ignore them!!
