This is biodiesel. not hydrogen. Today Obama killed the hydroen highway boondoggle false hope BS proposed by bush. Thanks Obama. Good move. A little reality and a less BS we need now. he pulled funding on hydrogen and is funding batteries. God the whole hydrogen lie really was pissing me off as so many did not get the false hope it was and was just another of bush's BS oil buddy support.
Hydrogen makes an excellent fuel. The problem is it is SOO energy intensive to make it. You basically use twice the energy to get the same amount of energy in the form of hydrogen. it would never have come about, thus it was a delaying tactic by bush, thankfully killed. you can go twice the miles on batteries for the same input of energy.. it has a place I think, but not as THE future alternative it was sold to be. Note, the term "twice as much" is just a saying, It is "much more" tho
i do agree with you to a point. Hydrogen does use a lot of energy to produce. simply because it usually comes with other elemements e.g oxygen which make it harder to extract. however as technology makes it more efficient. hydrogen will become a more pheasable source of energy, especially as it costs around the same to buy as it is oil these days. i don't see a future in electric cars. there are too many setbacks.
The Hydrogen Highway focuses primarily on hydrogen (NOT biodiesel), and is a technology that needs much more research and development before it is even close to being environmentally or economically rational. Furthermore, the 4Refuel representative has ZERO understanding regarding climate change mitigation. Sulfur DOES NOT cause global warming, and only affects acid rain (an entirely different problem). Please educate yourself with something more credible than videos like this...
