It's Normal that the Bugatti Veyron doesn't win in this kind of track and rice. Basically because of the wage of the car it is too heavy for such time lap it has 16-cylinder engine Imagine the Weight when it starting and when cornering such lap it need a light cars

If you stop the film at 0.15 you'll notice a gouge running down the bottom of the sill. That was done by the owner having a disagreement with the concrete plinth beside the petrol pump as he filled the Veyron up for the shoot! Just read it in the Stigs book.

it would be very interesting to see VW strip it down, and make a track edition of it (I mean, the bling alone, is probably half a ton on this car). although, I think the weight is somehow needed to handle all the power.

I was fortunate enough to be in southern England with my Veyron and take a turn around their rather curious little track. Seems, "The Stig" doesn't understand how to get the best out of all wheel drive. So sad. I pulled the lap in 116.7. Such a pity.

@ razrX It may have been able to shave off a full second and some change. The stig wasn't really allowed by bugatti to push it too hard like with the koeniggsegg because he crashed that. Imagine if he did the same with the bugatti.

Hey guys bugatti is not a car to be raced on the track unlik the gumpert so this lap time is amazing for the 2 ton car. Bugatti veyron is the fastest car on the world it has the bigest top speed bugatti never said that its going to be the fastest car in the world on track.

It's basic physics really. Chapman was the first to realize that when conservative fools like Enzo Ferrari said stuff like:"aerodynamics are for those that can't design engines". No wonder they never pioneered nothing in F1 or in any other motorracing.

this lap was not fair, The Stig was afraid from crashing this car, Bugatti refused to offer this car for a lap test, after he crashed with the Kionsegg he is not even able to drift like the Zonda F

@5560888 - It wouldn't have made a difference. It's simply too heavy. Against a Gumpert which is practically a race car, the Veyron with its luxuries is simply outclassed on a race track.
