  • the s2000 is a roadster but can be used as a sports car

  • its WEAK, it takes along time to get to 153mph so i got bored. what happen to the HP, did it die. GARBAGE HP it has

  • @js42021 and your sedan goes 110? stfu

  • my dad had that car

  • uhuh lemme see out the window, i bet youre on jackstands in your driveway :D

  • Wix’s Tuner Directory. Has Tons of high quality low cost auto parts for any car. They have special discounts and links to sites that have a lot of car parts at low prices and its totally free.

Just type "Wixs tuner Directory" into Google to go to site

  • @PythonTechnology, its not a "v4" its an inline 4.

on another note, i have a 95 prelude vtec and mine can hit 160. You just need valve springs to get there red line is at 7200 @ 8k rpms hits 160mph. Tried it once and that enough for me.

Oh and its not safe obviously, need a flat flat road lol especially for a muscle car with a poor suspension better have good shokcs springs etc cus it aint the same at 150 lol

  • @AbrahamLopezSJ no way your stock prelude hit 160. I have had many vtec preludes and they dont hit 160. The s2000 is a way faster car

  • @karsseboomh22 acually i built a couple civics with h22's. if you use the accord r tranny, which has longer gears than the lsd prelude s, you can achieve 160 at 8200 rpm with 215/40/16. so yes, there is no way it would do it stock, even if power wasnt an issue

  • @PythonTechnology, its not a "v4" its an inline 4.

  • Are they electronically limited to that speed or what?

Also, a four banger in turbo territory? The S2000 is awesome. Needs a supercharger or a V6 six option to those of us who dont like the putt putt sounds lol.

  • got my old 95 impala ss up to 151 it was awsome

  • @bergaflickal yeah but your car is a v8...5.7L??? this is 4banger 2L....s2k is amazing for what its got

  • I've got an old Chevy truck with a 350 motor in it. Isn't worth more than 2k, and it's ooooooold. Easily hits 160 lol.

My deal is better than the S2000's. Though i dont win in the end though. Seven miles to the gallon >.>

  • @peepeevagi 160km's maybe and thats even pushing it

  • @Zanidean9 160mph son. Needle going back around and past the Zero :D

  • lol by the time i hit 125 in mine i always hit some sort of traffic, then i get down to 60, traffic clears up, hit 125, traffic again, i guess im just unlucky....

  • I wouldn't love my S2000 any less if it could only go 125. That's fast enough for me! Cool vid though.

  • wow ima sound like a punk but i have not taking mine past 120 and i dont think i dare to

  • That's crazy. I didn't know the AP1 had a higher top speed than an AP2? I've taken my AP2 to 148 twice, but read they are limited to 150.

  • 1999 s2000 epicc wat color

  • @johngo and @scorpios. Lol both of u get a life and quit arguing over a fucken video on YouTube. You both r just so cool. :D

  • less than 7k miles on the car...wonder how long it was before he totaled it..lol

  • I see all these stories about people weaving the stock S2000 at speeds close to 140mph?? Well... I actually have a friend who has a BONE stock AP1 and i've personally been in his car when he was weaving at 138mph... and the car was totally solid. It's amazing what a good driver can do for that car WITHOUT a full suspension. FYI... the S2000's stock suspension setup is pretty unbeatable.

  • i have an AP1 myself and oddly enough i agree melinko, no way can you dip with a bike at 140. maybe if ure boosted with a full suspension then yea (like me) lol. but thats too dangerous, i like smokin V8's much better :)

  • @JOHNGO... I had a witness in the car... this is not a lie... I outweaved a motorcycle in moderate to heavy traffic at about 140mph... believe it or not...that is your problem.... it 100% happened... Just because you own the car doesnt mean you are capable of replicating the same skills as another driver.... get real dude.

  • im sure you did, remember this isnt a dream man, its real life. going 140 isnt exactly a skill, any moron can step on a gas pedal. i think you are the one who should get real "dude". being to tell a b/s story from a fact is not a problem either, its common sense. Just so you know in case you misunderstood the first time im not doubting that an s2k can do that speed, just the fact that you say your boy out dipped a motorcycle is dumb. no stock s2k can do that i promise you.

  • JOHNGO----- whatever you say. You actually think your word is the FINAL word? If you do, you're fkn crazy. Since you cannot disprove or approve my statement, stop running your mouth like shit is flowing out.

  • sure i can disprove, ask any stock s2k owner if they can dip on a bike at 140. go ahead ask, and if they say yes they're lying too. my friends new M5 barely keeps up with bikes man, get your shit straight. i dont doubt it can do that speed at all cause everyone knows it can. im only runnin my mouth to disprove your LIE, so just stop. no one cares about your fake story.

  • @JOHNGO.. Are you aware of the rules of logic? Do you realize you are breaking every rule that every determined logic as well as its ugly brother, circular logic? Apparently, you are not bright enough to construct a valid path of reasoning in your feeble attempt to disprove me. Once again, since you cannot, on ANY logical platform, prove me wrong, please shut your fkn mouth. The genesis of your argument is one that is flawed and furthermore, your poor education is surfacing with each rebuttal

  • @JOHNGO... ask yourself this: 1) What is the skill level of the individual I am speaking with and what are the skill levels of the drivers you're addressing 2) What kind of highway was it....double lane, triple lane.. 3) What were the enviornmental conditions on that day 4) Is it because my friends own s2000's and one has an M5, that it means they are not capable of doing what "i've" done, so it's impossible?? THATS THE GUTS OR YOUR ARGUMENT.. FLAWED LOGIC.

  • @JOHNGO-- until you can construct a VALID argument..leave me the fk alone... you're dumber than shit..and that tiny brain of yours needs serious education--SERIOUS. Got education???

  • must have been a bicycle, theres ure logic tough guy lmao. ppl like you make me laugh. write a fuckin book to try to sound smart on youtube. get a life man.

  • @johngo... That's what I thought. Have a good day.

  • I have a 2000, s2000 and ive taken it up to that speed. Bone stock. sick lol

  • ( Youngbleeb ) the top speed of a stock honda nsx is 168mph...

    your comment FAIL!!!!!

  • This video goes to show ALL YOU HATERS that the S2000 WILL go over 140mph. The cars as real as it gets for a 2.0 liter, 4.

  • Comment removed

  • @ScorpiosRevenge1 Our Diesel BMW 120d M Sport will do over 140Mph, what's your point?

  • @ScorpiosRevenge1 of course it goes over 140, my gc can go 140 lol

  • stock?

  • you weaved motorcycles? lol thats right before they smoked your ass right? LMFAO

  • The Ap1 is a GREAT CAR-- I own myself and have out weaved motorcycles at 140mph.... cars VERY VERY capable IF you know how to drive.

  • @AP1FORLIFE Unless you were actually weaving a basket, you're full of shit.

  • @dividebyzero... IF YOU SAY SO CLOWN.... you cannot refute my statements, because you were not there. IT HAPPENED...and it happened with my buddy in the passenger seat. I could care less if you believe it... You're probably just a shitty driver.

  • The shitty driver is the one weaving @140Mph in heavy traffic.

  • top up on mine ... 155mph.. couldn't rev my 5th gear anymore.

  • The max I ever pushed my AP1 was 145..on an interstate..ofourse top down... I could have pushed 5mph more.. but its too risky on these roads..

  • i cant wait to get my ap2 :)

  • my '02 stock took me to 147mph once, TOP DOWN......was your canvas up or down on this drive? :D

The only reason I resumed "normal" speed was due the fact I was passing highway traffic at about double their speed & I became nervous that someone might cut me off. I've always wondered how many more mph's I could've pulled. Smooth as silk all the way to where I was; great feeling. Next exit was State Police...*sigh*

Great and highly-addictive car....even moreso in the twisties and hills! :D

  • no, top was definitely UP and closed. I tried with top down (road was bumpy though) and only could get 135mph or so.. never tried with top down on a super flat road.

  • For me, the instrumentation looks better than the Ap2.

  • 2002 is one of the best years for the S2000. From the 99-01, the improved the trans, the suspension, the interior, the back window got changed to glass with a rear defroster, and a few other tweeks cosmetically. 2003 copied 2002 and 2004 began with the F22C, which decreased the redline but improved the lower end torque. Personally, the Ap1 can take the Ap2, its truly a drivers race.

  • Ive got an 02 Ap1 and have gone 140+, completely stable. For a NA 4 cylinder, cars amazing. How many NA 4 cylinders can claim 120hp per liter?

  • I think that has the highest power-displacement ratio. For a turbocharged four, I think it's the Mitsubishi Evo X, 150 per liter.

  • next time try for top speed on less fuel! a full tank of gas is heavy! try it with a few gallons in the tank and you should have more acceleration on the top end

  • If you don't run out of fuel! I've done this in my S2K, same year as this one, and let me tell you it drinks gas like crazy. I'd never attempt top speed in my S2K without filling up first.

  • try it with a 1/4 tank and you will see a big improvement!

  • props on your s2k but this is no big accomplishment! i hit 160 in a stock 01 lude sh

  • I hope that wasn't you holding the camera.

  • no, it wasn't me holding the camera.. it was my X-girlfriend holding the camera.

  • wow, it also shows mph?

  • sheesh.. is that stock?

  • the car was bone stock less than 6 months old it was the first year they made it 1999 i think

  • no the F20C revs to 9k rpm. the F22 revs to 8k. or 8300rpm.

  • oh crap really? Damn... my bad, i really thought it could rev to 10k. Thanks.

  • @racerboyroy No, the motor isn't bigger. The pistons are shorter, which in turn gives it more displacement. Technically, by switching the pistons and crankshaft an AP1 could become an AP2. 2.2L displacement with 9000 revs. You might run into valve slapping problems or such.

  • @segovian my buddy bought an AP2 bottom cause he blew some parts in his bottom end and he slapped on his AP1 top and the shop bought some new AP2 parts and now it has the ability to keep the revs high and gots some low end torque. i wanna do that too :)

  • I have an S2000 and actually enjoy sitting in traffic for the first time in my life..... Its all about the ride, nothing else. Just get what you like and enjoy it. It doesn't matter what it is as long as you like it.

  • @Jetspeedz seats are so comfortbale i dont blame u

  • @Jetspeedz

I definitely agree. Since I git my S, Traffic has not been as bothersome.

  • @Jetspeedz What are they like to drive normally i.e outside vtec are they still quicker than your average car?

  • @Jetspeedz no true gear head in the world will talk shit about an s2k, one of the n=best cars Honda has ever made, most powerful 4cyl ever, annnnd she LOVES boost.

  • lol what do you drive?

  • well it may have 300hp but it as fun to drive in the twisties :) as the S2000

  • I see your point also but most people dont get sports cars to sit in traffic.

  • LOL--he said "he enjoyed sitting in traffic with the car" HE DID NOT SAY--he purchased the car to sit in traffic. Not so sure why everyone gave you a thumbs up--- what you said was pretty much pointless.

  • NEXT TIME! look at the correct post before you post something. Maybe that way you'll be able to understand why something is the way it is!

  • lol.....................................

  • WHODAMANME: MOST people with sportscars cannot control when or if they hit traffic. Of course sports cars are not meant for traffic, but I saw a ferrari in traffic the other day; shit happens.

  • Look dont try to save face now by bringing it up a different way, and also I'm done talking about a 4 month old comment

  • @WhoDaManMe hondas aren't sports cars ; )

  • @pac850 s2000, nsx.... really? its easy to spot the people on youtube who dont know jack shit about cars.

  • Comment removed

  • @pac850 s2000 hsv si and tipe R are sport cars ; D

  • yeah thats how I explain my car to people. I tell them its like a civic under 6 grand but after that it just hauls. 4.77s helped with low end tho too.

  • I've done 143mph but my girl started complaining so I had to let off... :( I know I can get to like 155mph

  • I've gone 148, but cars began joining me on what was an empty freeway at first, so I slowed down.

  • The F22 has a longer stroke and does not need to be reved over 8500.

  • First off I would like to point out that I have 2 cars.. Honda 2001 S2000 Turbo and a Stock 2006 Corvette Z06.. When I first got the Honda s2000 6 months ago.. which I got for driving around.. I test drove the new s2k.. I felt that they are very powerless.. However.. They are nice looking.. Also.. I would like to say thank for for putting this video up.. It's the best top speed video I have seen.

  • the engine doesn't come alive until you rev it to about 7000, which is where it gets serious

  • I've only done 133 :( too scared to go any faster on my stock red 01

  • she's still got a 1000 revs left, find a hill.

  • lol

  • r u kidding me dude da s2000 rapes da rx8 put dem up stock stock ull c the results i no frm experiance i have a s2000 my self

  • why do the earlier s2000's have a 9000 rpm red line, while the newer versions have an 8000 rpm red line?

  • the newer cars have a bigger motor

  • Its acually only in the US that the ap2 red lines at 8,000rpm. Europe n Japan they have the same 2.2L engine on the ap2 which red lines at 9,000rpm. You can thank americans car regulations for not being able to pull that extra 1,000 rpm...

  • @racerboyroy 2.2 right?

  • @returnofdaking Yes I think so - it was the first year it was made

  • @earliozz the ap1's [1999-2003] have the f20 (2.0) that redlines round 9+ the ap2 [2004-2009] f22 redlines at like 8,300...and the ap2 has stabilty control and roll bar speakers just some info on these little beasts

  • @xxnissansilviaxx auhh, Tell me more please whats better ap1 or ap2? Does 9rpm makes a differents from the 8000rpm one? Sorry for so much question but I like to know more about these bad boys..

  • @earliozz older ones are 2L v4, the newer ones are 2.2L v4.

  • mid 14s is ok its no diffrent than rx8 in hp and speed altho still fun car

  • hey "philipp122", your wrong... if you read the description it tells you that its an s2000 from the first year (its a 2000 year model) and from 2000-2003 was the first and best generation ever made and if you know anything about the s2k's then you should know the first gen came with the 2.0 not the 2.2 and the 2.0 redlines at 9200 rpm instead of 8500rpm like the 2.2 does.

  • Not to shabby, but you want to try my S/C version 170+

  • thats hawt man, im glad to see that at least one honda goes above 140 haha. Anyway, i might be switching from my 390whp sti to an s2000. It was i originally wanted and now im getting bored with the sti. Rep for the fast mph

  • are those actual miles on the odo?

    this things still a baby!

  • yes it had few miles on it

    my friend chris

got one of the first cars in this area

i think it was a 1999 model - the first year it was made

  • hah, hey roy.. it's me Chris the driver of the s2000 in that video. i had an Xgirlfriend holding the camera. she was brave - shoulda kept her around a little longer :)

oh. and the clutch/transmission fried after that run. i helped discover the problem with the 1-2 grind that got worse with higher speed runs when the gears weren't lubericated enough.

  • cool good to hear from you chris

i knew early models had transmission troubles

but i didnt remember your car had had problems

that was a fun car to drive

  • it could go faster

  • they all want 2 know that your the fast n the furius

  • How much % from real for your digital tacho?

did you have approx.8000 rpm in VI gear I guess...Thx.

  • I bet that mid 14s preformnce is blowing away modern v6 sedens, even racecar drivers dont go that fast on public roads, reason is because a racetracks roads are way diffrent and those are for twisties not straightline

  • ^^ these guys are all about straight line performance, buy a freak'n camaro. you get an s2k for the twisties BIATCH

  • agreed

  • 14 seconds out of a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder car is amazing. They're really pretty quick. The F22C engine under the car's hood currently makes more n/a ponies than any other car in production, with a total of over 120 n/a horsepower per liter. That brings it to a total of about 246 horsepower.

  • how bout a 1.3 liter that makes 232 hp stock NA...thats 180 hp per liter...BEAT THAT VTECH...ROTARY POWER FTW

  • True, it does have smaller displacement, but only because of the engine design. The engine is actually less fuel efficient and doesn't have any more potential. Also, VTEC isn't what's unique about Honda's engines. It's not what gives it its power. VTEC is simply a mechanism that allows both economic driving at cruising speeds and sport driving when you punch the gas. The F22C makes all of its power solely from its ingenious design,

  • Also that 1.3 liter isn't actually a 1.3L. Because if displacement is how much air per revolution it's more than a 1.3 liter, mazda only rated one stroke, but it rotates 3 times per revolution. which is why Mazda can't use rotaries in races anymore, because it's way too easy to lie about the displacement. That eninges more of a 2.6 liter.

  • roy (who posted this video) was behind me in his Camaro .. forgot specs but he'd always win 20mph - 80mph.. but i think i could keep distance if not make a few car lengths from 90ish to 155ish..

roy - you'd remember better than me..

  • yeah above 100mph the honda was just as fast i guess it was more aero - my flipup rear spoiler and huge (non functional at the time) air scoop on the hood didnt help

  • Who cares - it is a blast to drive one - it's like a RWD car with a motorcycle motor in it!

  • not that bad stock with a couple of modds, but when i went turbo ill never go back its amazing turboed

  • to slow stock! exactly how fast do you think your average car goes stock? these are sub 6 seconds and more importantly for me, look stunning! ive only had mine a week cant stop the grin every time i push the button!

  • lol ya they are. My friend has an S2000, and he took me for a ride in it. I can't believe he wasted 33k on one.

  • it drives like a race car - you havent driven one you have not driven it fasr enough

  • buy a turbo kit for that S2000 man, they're to slow stock =(

  • no their not.....

  • 153MPH IS PRETTY DAMN FAST, JUST FYI.

  • I'm not talking about top speed, you're an idiot...just FYI
