This is the best thing Mr. Barker had ever done for a contestant. It was really great for James at 99 yrs. old to be great at that age. God Bless him.
it was nice of that guy to spin the wheel for him! the people were very kind to help him across the stage, bob was very nice to not time the game like they usually do.
The Ice Bucket did him in just as it cursed poor June in '04. I remember when this originally aired & couldn't believe that he was 99, my (at the time) 70 year old grandfather looked older than James :)
Barker always seemed to ask the question more as if he wanted to know if the contestant has watched (insert pricing game name) before. Drew, on the other hand, seems to downplay this
It was things like this that made Bob Barker a class act. Sure, he might have been a tyrant to his staff, but he always made sure contestants were given the best chance to win. Very cool moment.
Very cool, thanks for sharing this video. It's heartwarming moments like this that kept me watching TPIR despite all the scandals that surrounded Bob Barker and the show during his tenure (at least starting the early 90s).
@elbertproductions Bob would've done the same thing. He would put the prices wherever he wanted, and the rules would've changed slightly to allow chances. Stay classy, Bob, and the rest of the staff for letting James have the best chance to win.
Wow, I really hate the outfits the Beauties are wearing in this episode, lol. And mind you, I remember women wearing stuff like that, and mind you, it wasn't even a decade ago, lol!
what if he had to go up the plinko steps....hed be like "fuck this..."

No time limit? Bob Barker is such a class act.

If he would have said, "ITS 100 MORE YEARS TO LIVE!" I think James would have had the same reaction.

Bob always asked contestants "have you seen how we play *name of pricing game* before?" or some form of this question.
Drew, doesn't seem to ask this question.

@dft432 he did when that lady won the $1,000.000 playing the Clock Game but that was probably the only time he's ever asked

RIP James (I'm pretty sure he is gone). At least he got to be on TPIR before then.
