I've bump fired Wolf FJM and HP. Often, the bullet isn't the problem. The hammer falls out of time with the bolt carrier and basically rides the back of the carrier into battery. When this happens, you dimple the primer with no detonation. It isn't the fault of the ammunition - it is just a trait common in semi-auto guns that were not really set up for full-auto shooting.
That would be called hammer follow, which is when the hammer slips off the sear or disconnecter and rides the bolt forward. I don't believe this was the case. The AK has a huge amount of engagement, which would eliminate the possiblity of hammer follow. I've had the same FTF using this ammo in standard semi fire AK and SKS.
I've experienced hammer follow with my WASR-10, which is why I suggested it... Sometimes I have no problem, but in no instance could I find fault with my ammunition. I've always shot the Russian Wolf brand... never soft-points, thought. I stick to FMJ and HP. I usually see Brown Bear priced higher than Wolf... shame the quality appears to be an issue.
So, how much hot "brass" do you catch when you bump that thing left-handed???
I had alot of issues with this ammo in a couple guns. They have feeding problems being softpoints and I found alota "duds" not from light primer hits either, they were just dead rounds. Wolf is much better.

I catch a few to my right arm sometimes. I'm trying to learn to do it right handed for an upcoming Saiga 12 20rd drum video.

That ammo was brown bear SP which, as you might guess, don't feed as well as FMJ.
