The azn is a call to allah. Not the god of the Christians, and Jews. The quran says allah has no son. The quran is clear Qur'an (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews.

@alas07able I am a Coptic Christian! I speak arabic. The word allah is arabic. The language of the Coptic Christians was COPTIC before the muslim conquest. Muslims forced the language change on the area and this is the ONLY reason arabic is used. Christians had the tip of the tongue cut off for speaking the native language. It has happened before here in America at an interfaith program...In the United States and Canada, people of different religions are much more tolerant of each other than other places in the world.

@YemeniSoldier well for a start off I'm not a Christian so the new testament is irrelevant to me, nowhere in the Tanakh does it say that Muhammad is "the" prophet of God, Ar-rasool means THE PROPHET not A prophet. Also, the Mashiah is somebody who brings in the messianic age of peace, we are not in the messianic age so Jesus was a rabbi not a prophet. Also, prophets have to predict the future correctly and perform miracles.

there is no fatwa that the azan cannot be done in the church. It a good way to dawah & spreading Islam to all of the non-muslim there. So I hope that many people will follow this way to dawah. Beside, azan had beautiful meaning & it will touch your heart if you listen to it carefully.

I don't know of any Fatawa being issued which makes it permissible to do this in a church, you would have to give me a reliable link which I can read. Like I said before, There are certain places where you give Dawah, for instance imagine being in a Pub where Liqour is being surved and you are doing the adhan "calling" people to Islam. This is what is happening here, in a Place where shirk is practised these people are doing the Adhan which most people don't even Understand whats going on.

we don't follow our whims and desires, because if we did then there would be no Islam left in us. We are Opening Minded as long as it doesn't go against the Sunnah. There is only one way of doing Dawah and that is the way of Prophet Muhammad and his companion who were the best in doing dawah and calling people to Islam, We don't make up our own technique or are you saying you know how to call people to Islam better then the Prophet and his companion, never did they do this in a christian church.

To say the pub is like the church is a bit not accurate. Look at the story of Albustami when he entered the church in basrah and by the well of Allah the church became a mosque over the night.

"People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews.

This is not a good thing. The God of the Christians and Jews is not the same as the god of islam named allah. Allah has many characteristics that are the exact opposite of the God in the Torah and NT. First understand God is eternal and does not change.
Numebers 23:19: Shows God does not lie. Compare that to the God of Islam Allah is khayru al-makireen, that Allah is "the best deceiver/schemer/conniver" (cf. S. 3:54; 8:30). This is 1 thing difference in a Loooooong list.

@alas07able I am a Coptic Christian! I speak arabic. The word allah is arabic. The language of the Coptic Christians was COPTIC before the muslim conquest. Muslims forced the language change on the area and this is the ONLY reason arabic is used. Christians had the tip of the tongue cut off for speaking the native language. Allah is simply the arabic generic word for GOD but is Allah YAWEH? No. Compare the characteristics of the 2 & they are polor oposites.

In the book of Lamentations, Jeremiah says that God DOES NOT willingly afflict the sons of men. .... (Jeremiah 19:7-9 RSV) You have to read the whole book. @YemeniSoldier well for a start off I'm not a Christian so the new testament is irrelevant to me, nowhere in the Tanakh does it say that Muhammad is "the" prophet of God, Ar-rasool means THE PROPHET not A prophet. Also, the Mashiah is somebody who brings in the messianic age of peace, we are not in the messianic age so Jesus was a rabbi not a prophet. Also, prophets have to predict the future correctly and perform miracles.

Furthermore, you should be tolerant of Christians worshipping their religion. In the Quran 109:1-6 it has clearly told us that non-Muslims are allowed to worship their faith without fear and not forced into becoming a Muslim and Muslims clearly distinguish their faith from others. You are not demonstrating either one of these characters. Even if they're worshipping the Trinity, it's not up to you to decide whether or not God accepts Christians, only God alone can decide that in Judgment Day.

Based on the aforementioned hadith,and even if you know of nothing much to deliver in your speech before your attentive audience in the church who wants to learn more about your religion..I ask all of you : will you be so handicapped as to just tell them 'Allahu akbar'? ..following that hadith, will you be so handicapped and short of words as to tell them ' laila illa Allah, Mohammed Rasoolullah'?.. and if for instance, one of them asks you as the Paqans of Quraish did to th Prophet ..

However, the issue propped up by bro.umar shouldn't have been the issue of content but the issue of methodology because if all things being equal ,ie, you are invited or given the opportunity to deliver a speech in a church...the messenger of Allah on whom be peace and blessings of Allah is reported to have said 'spread the message( proclaim the message) even if it's a verse" ..

there is no fatwa that the azan cannot be done in the church. It a good way to dawah & spreading Islam to all of the non-muslim there. So I hope that many people will follow this way to dawah. Beside, azan had beautiful meaning & it will touch your heart if you listen to it carefully.

I don't know of any Fatawa being issued which makes it permissible to do this in a church, you would have to give me a reliable link which I can read. Like I said before, There are certain places where you give Dawah, for instance imagine being in a Pub where Liqour is being surved and you are doing the adhan "calling" people to Islam. This is what is happening here, in a Place where shirk is practised these people are doing the Adhan which most people don't even Understand whats going on.

There is only one way of doing Dawah and that is the way of Prophet Muhammad and his companion who were the best in doing dawah and calling people to Islam, We don't make up our own technique or are you saying you know how to call people to Islam better then the Prophet and his companion, never did they do this in a christian church.

To say the pub is like the church is a bit not accurate. Look at the story of Albustami when he entered the church in basrah and by the well of Allah the church became a mosque over the night.

Just to clarify cuz i dont know why people r fightin. The program was about peace and inviting people to become opened to other religions and cultures, so the azan (not prayer) was performed as to make people sense the beauty of the call i guess.
I dont know about u guys but it was realy affecting , an old christian was crying at the front benches although he didnt know arabic :)
